calfoxwc Posted May 2, 2017 Report Share Posted May 2, 2017 the explanation is that oct is the end of the gov's fiscal year - so it's a temporary continuation to get the rest of what Trump wants - in the newer 2018 budget. He still got money for security/illegal immigration, etc.... The dems won't have Trump's first hundred days to use politically anymore, so, we'll have to hope for the best later. OldBrownsFan Posted May 2, 2017 Report Share Posted May 2, 2017 Rino majority leader Mitch McConnell won't do it but they should drop the nuclear option now on all legislation to be passed by a simple majority and get rid of the filibuster which is being abused to stop almost all legislation. If McConnell doesn't do it I would bet the farm the next time the dems have control of all three branches of government like the republicans have now they will do it. After trying to sandbag the reps and Trump accomplishing anything, during his first 100 days, they went and started to brag that he didn't get much done in his first 100 days.
