Louisville Slugger
I'm not saying we don't need to upgrade some spots but overall I fell we've addressed all of our glaring needs in the last 2 years. We are very young at a lot of positions but there is promising talent all over this roster. QB- Kessler Osweiler Kizer- Game manager, experienced backup, high ceiling rookie. The answer might not be in this group but we are trying every angle to find the solution. RB- Crowell Johnson Jackson Atkinson- solid group but I would like to see a bell cow FB- Vitale- looked pretty good last year WR- Coleman Britt Louis Higgins Payton- Not the best WR room but could surprise if one or 2 guys improve TE- Njoku Devalve Telfer- We shouldn't have cut Barnidge but the size speed combo of Njoku and Devalve will be interesting. OL- Thomas Bitonio Tretter Zeitler Coleman- not only do we have a strong starting 5, we have some good depth. DL- Garrett Shelton Bryant Ogbah- same as the o line. Nassib Brantley Ogunjobi and Orchard being rotational guys could be sick. I really like that Schult kid too LB- Collins Kirksey- apparently Willaims runs the nickle most of the time and that will make up for our lack of depth at LB. Davis and Schobert shouldn't be terrible backups CB- Haden McCourty Taylor- solid group plus Boddy-calhoun needs to get reps. After that we have to hope guys like Shrinking and Burley can hold their own S- Reynolds Peppers- Not crazy about this group. Peppers has a long way to go in coverage and Reynolds is a reliable but unspectacular player. Kindred will get reps and I really like Nacua. Powell and Campbell are talented but have yet to prove they can play. I am stoked about this season and think a wildcard push isn't out of the question. In a year or 2 we could very well be the pride of the AFCN.
cambridgeho
The holes are lack of experience at some of those positions. Lack of talent as well. Year 2 of the build looks a bit more smooth and with an improved line, it may make for better positional play. We shall see. I just want football back, and a few more wins. gumby73
QB- Kessler Osweiler Kizer FB- Vitale WR- Coleman Britt Louis Higgins Payton LB- Collins Kirksey CB- Haden McCourty Taylor S- Reynolds Peppers. These^^are your holes with the depth after that don't make PS on 31 other teams(maybe Calhoon does) also ILB-D. Davis needs upgraded in a 4-

Tour2ma
It was at reddit... but a good thread nonetheless... FS: Feels like the position at which we are furthest from strength with a cast of misfit toys vying to start. MLB: Davis may be serviceable, but this is an impact position on the D-side; The "QB of the D" if you will. QB: QB 3rd? Have I lost it? Simply a case where numbers come into play. Three guys maybe averaging a 25% shot at being a legit, NFL starter add up to a 75% chance of one panning out... as a starter... and that's the entry level designation. Add that we are first in the "game manager" market and the search becomes less daunting. CB: Joe's a question; Joe's opposite is a question. Slot? Less of a question... Overall we have a viable group of candidates plus Wilson healing. That's enough possibilities through shear numbers to drop CBs to #4. WR: short of the emergence of a clear, #1... C'mon, Josh, get your shit together... questions remain. LB Depth: We simply cannot afford to lose any of our starting three... OT Depth: I believe in Shon, but if he or, God forbid, Joe go down, we are going to suffer... bigly, if it's Joe...
The Gipper
We will not fully answer this question until the season starts and they have played a few games. Then we will have a better picture. To me, the areas to watch are the entire DB and the entire LB corps. I just thought there were some young FAs in these areas out there that this team, with all its salary cap available, could have made a pitch for. They got some stuff....but not the cream of the crop (other than keeping Collins). On the offense, WR....QB....still the biggest question marks (but no FAs would have been all that worthy imo) Smaller one may be RT

TexasAg1969
One thing I hope for the entire season is that we show enough promise as young team that is transforming into a good team so that we attract some of those really excellent FA's that previously would not give us the time of day. I think that behind the scenes we were trying to get more guys, but just didn't have the firepower in terms of better things ahead, to attract the top talent we need from FA. PS-Or his Dudeness. Tour2ma
PFF chimes in... and gets it right... Cleveland Browns – Free safety While the Browns have roster holes still needing filled and most notably still a question mark at the quarterback position, the biggest need the team has after free agency and the draft is free safety. Cleveland addressed several positions of need this offseason, but one of the team’s biggest weaknesses in 2016 was getting beat deep due to the backend of the defense either busting on the coverage or biting on play action and double moves. The Browns drafted Jabrill Peppers in the first round, but he’ll be used as more of a versatile chess piece that can play all over. Currently, Ed Reynolds and Tyvis Powell look to be contenders for the starting job at FS, but Reynolds posted a poor coverage grade in 2016 and Powell has yet to play a regular-season snap on defense in the NFL. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-the-biggest-remaining-need-for-each-afc-team/

No, Peppers is not that guy....he's the one we tapped to fill SS, which was also a gaping hole.....but still one with 2 young up and coming recent draft picks....which we cannot say for FS..... PoeticG
I'm not really seeing any holes... it's crazy though with the talent starting to overflow from one positon to the next, kinda like Orchard moving form OLB to DE- I mean the talent floweth over. Mudfly
Was that you? I knew someone said it a lot, but that guy was around a lot, too... Yeah....Im around, just still struggling to get excited.....but also trying to keep quite(bite my tongue)....Ive said it all, so kinda waiting and hoping to get some good stuff going and get excited....think we could see a good uptick, but have reservations.....and, right now, everytime I sign in to comment, I end up trying to be a realist, then getting pissed.....even w/o that intent..... I hope Hue takes this group....puts em in the right spots....picks the right 53.....starts the right 22......but, even with FO making good picks, I still am not confident Hue will have the same positive uptick.....well shall see......season is looming.....looking forward to it(but very tempered)

So don't "try"... can't force what isn't there. Personally I'm excited to see confirmation of a directional change... that's all. Not looking for "perfection" in Hue or the FO... just confirmation of a positive change that I've sensed for over a year. Also you might be biting the wrong part of your anatomy... LondonBrown
Personally I'm excited to see confirmation of a directional change... that's all. Basically this. They have a plan which is clear to see, whether it works or not time will tell but at least there is one, there hasn't been a FO in Cleveland looking past "this year" since I can remember. BrownsnMopar
I am cautiously optimistic! I want to see what Greg Williams does with this defense and obviously the defenders! If this were Horton,I would be less optimistic! As some have brought up, I like the derection we are headed. Now if only some of these rookies, udfa, and FA can gel/HIT! We may have a good core! Time will tell! GO BROWNS!!!
Buck The Frowns
Main hole is the inability to get sufficient value out of high draft picks. Fix that and all the other holes will get filled. Pay whatever you have to to the best draft people you can find. Hire Pgh and NE best people at twice the salary, whatever you have to do..... ballpeen
Just a quick reply...the receivers and defensive backfild are still pretty thin. QB....??? Who knows, we could have drafted a QB number #1 and my answer would be the same. You just never know until they start playing. Kessler and Kiser could turn in to a strength. You just never know. For sure. In the past perhaps you could say you do know....you knew that things would work out for the worst...because they always have. Now? Perhaps not so much. Things have to turn around don't they? That Wheel of Fortune has always hit the Bankrupt space for us so often, isn't it time we hit the million dollar spot? mjp28
Not enough zeros on that wheel for today's players! Plus I don't watch the wheel, never could stand that pompous Pat Sajak especially since I saw him on Johnny Carson's show bragging how he only works 39 days a year and makes a fortune (5 shows a day). Meanwhile I hope this year's draft class lives up to everyone's expectations.
