Tacosman
been pretty patient, but now is the time. we've had 3 years(now going into the 4th) of drafts and player acquisitions since 'starting over' going into the 2014 season. Mudfly
Year 2 of the most "recent" rebuild....cause Jimmy restarts every 2 years..... I will say that the Farmer did get our current core group started and several of our BEST younguns come from the 13-14 drafts.... Mainly Bito....Kirksey....Shelton....Duke......and(fingers crossed) Orchard? We picked 18 players in those 2 drafts.......Shashi has just selected 24 players in his first 2 drafts....so, expecting at least 6 additional quality core players to emerge just to be equal with Farmers dismal record.....and it should be more, if these drafts are going to prove out as successes
Guest
These guys have been on the job for 16 months. They've assraped the Patriots, Steelers, Texans and Panthers for draft picks, stole Jamie Collins, re-signed our key talent, rebuilt the offensive line in a day, just drafted three starters in the first round and may have snared the QB with the highest ceiling in the draft. Fuck y'all who are not paying attention. Talk about Butch Davis, Randy Savage and Ray Farmer some more. Z

The Gipper
It's actually year two. Zombo Yes, of this current regime. But usually when you talk about a rebuild, you are rebuilding from a team that had been good...then got bad, and you are trying to build it into being good again. In the Browns case, we are rebuilding from a bad team...that stayed bad and got bad. I just hope this version of a rebuild actually becomes just that: something built into something good. The Gipper
Then what you are saying is, we will be a better team than the Steelers, Patriots, Texans and Panthers? I have been paying closer attention than you. You spend too much time sticking your gnarled up, wrinkled, pimple infested dick into the beach in gay Florida to know dick about football. Having the most draft picks translates into jack shit. The Browns are 1 - 19 under Hue Jackoff. Hope all you want, but this Wunder-team hasn't added a single playmaker in two years. With Garrett soon to be in IR, this team is worse than last years shit pile. Ass Raping the Patriots................ LMAO............... Yeah, THe Browns got the best of Belichik. LMAO.........what's next Zomblow? Oprah Winfat is hot? Browns DID get the better end of a couple of deals with the Patriots over 1 or 2 players. Collins is better than Sheard and Mingo combined. But, no, that does not mean those "minor" deals make the Browns better than the Patriots. I don't think Z implied that. (If they had traded for Tom Brady...that could be a different matter) Browns DID get the better end of the deal with the Steelers in the Justin Gilbert trade. (Getting anything for him makes it a better deal). That does not mean that that deal makes the Browns better than the Steelers. I don't think Z implied that. (If they traded for Ben R. that would be a different matter) I don't think there is any doubt the Browns got the better end of the Texans trade. We got B.O....who, sure, may be questionable as a QB... but at least he is something for the Browns to try that may be better than what they had. Plus they got a 2d round draft pick...and gave up what? A 4th rounder and some cash? Who cares about the cash if your name is not Jimmy Haslam (and he don't care about it). And jut giving up a 4th round pick for a 2d alone makes it a good deal...even without B.O. thrown in. I don't think that Z implied that that deal alone makes us better than the Texans. (though...it may mean that the Browns actually have a better QB situation than the DATs. What group of QBs do you like best: Brock Osweiler and DeShone Kizer, or Tom Savage and DeShaun Watson? I think I would take our group...maybe) As for the Panthers....I guess I don't recall that deal. What was that deal?

Just something about all this that makes me think that if they stick to a 5 year rebuild and not the same old 2 year do-overs of the past, this will actually turn into an annual playoff team. Jimmy (and the fans) must be patient enough for rookies to mature into core players all on the same page.

Jimmy (and the fans) must be patient enough for rookies to mature into core players all on the same page. With some of the bad draft choices they have made in the past I don't think "sticking to a 5 year plan" would have helped. Would sticking with Trent Richardson/Weeden/JMZ/Gilbert/Mingo etc. etc. etc. for 5 years have made them better? Sticking with Pat Shurmur for 5 years? Hell no. Pettine? Maybe, not sure. Farmer? Fuck no. Mike Lombardi? Double Fuck NO. Ya follow?
Mudfly
There is truth to both of your points......I dont think anyone(FO or HC) is gonna turn this mess around in 2 years, so the chronic hire fire roundabout that Jimmy has created handicaps any chance of success......on the same note, just sticking with the same group for 5 years doesnt guarantee success either..... Bottom line.....Jimmy has made very poor choices in some of the people he has hired..... and has shown little faith or patience with any good hires, once they were in.....and ultimately has stunted this teams growth with his quick trigger......(Jimmy has the worst win percentage of any Browns owner....ever....including Al Lerner, who had an expansion team)(he also has the worst record of any existing owner in the league) My biggest fear is that he will now over correct & lean the other way by sticking with this group too long, should they fall on their faces..... So....in my world.....Jimmy is the root cause of this teams demise....the one common factor that has been present, while the team has gotten worse......I honestly didnt think anyone could be worse than Randy Lerner....then Jimmy came along..... The Gipper
Yes by all means, Find out your blind date is Joy Behar. Keep fucking her and she will turn into Angelina Jolie. This is Browns logic. NEWSFLASH........................................ NO QB............................ the rest of the shit is just that.................shit. Well, maybe the Browns are just trying to follow the model set by your butt buddies the Steelers, when in the early 2000s, they built up their OL and their defense and their other positions...but had the forgettable Tommy Maddox at QB. Finally, when they had everything in place, they went and got their franchise QB in the draft, with BR. A few other teams have followed a similar model. The Broncos recently did the same, built up their defense/OL etc....then instead of drafting a franchise rookie QB, they acquired the ultimate veteran in Peyton Manning. That IS one way of building...but, admittedly, we can be impatient and frustrated until that sort of thing happens. Getting THAT GUY at QB is all important....but when and how does a team do it? Do the Browns draft one of these so called franchise QBs next year? Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen or...the kid from Wyoming (forget his name). Or, I mean, hell....what if an Aaron Rodgers or other top quality veteran becomes available somehow? Do they go for him? I agree that we may not have THE MAN right now. But I am also of the belief that our FO is aware of it as well. Taking a flyer with our 4th pick in the draft on a QB does not mean they believe he is THE MAN....but is just an acknowledgment that they may as well try something until a better plan comes along. The Gipper
No, the Browns are NOT modeled after the Steelers in any way shape or form. The Steelers sank or swap with Maddox. Hue jumps around like a fucking nipple in a hot frying pan. He can't even stick with his hand picked DC. Please, don't compare this cunt franchise to the Steelers. The steelers don't draft shit like Coleman. Good grief man. Anyone who is a Steeler apologist is a cunt. Can I make that comparison? I can and I did. And...you really have no clue. What you are implying is that the Steeler model to attempt to build up their franchise is a cunt way of doing so...such that it should not attempt to be duplicated!
