I come at this from a centrist point of view. Whatever injustices have occurred with police killing people unwarrantedly..and there have been some, this is just stupid on his part. First....it is not accurate. Secondly, it is fueled perhaps by his own racism. Again, while there have been injustices.....who does he think he is going to call on if someone tries to take him to task for his views on this matter in a physical way? He would be the first to whine and cry about not being protected.

Reading the tweets under the article, they're dead on as to why no team will touch him. Can't compare what happened 150 years ago to today. BTW Colin, slaves didn't drive cars.

He's taking the comparison too far. But I also don't wholeheartedly disagree with him. I wish the police were more vocally willing to call out the few "bad" ones so these broad strokes wouldn't exist.

There are probably many in the NFL who agree with him but are smart enough to keep their mouths shut and collect their millions. Personally I agree with some of what he says. I have a nice car, a BMW convertible. I went through a stretch where I was pulled over several times a week. My son was driving it once and was pulled over, and made to sit cross legged on the ground while police searched the car with no warrant. No citation was ever written for any of these stops, and nothing illegal was ever found. I was baffled and asked a lawyer friend why this was going on. He laughed and told me about asset forfeiture. Basically cops can stop you and take any cash you are holding, and keep it if you can't prove it was not ill gotten. The cops use this money for "training". I have grown to see local police departments as little more than Mexican bandits in search of likely people to shake down.

I have parked the Bimmer and am buying a station wagon.

By the way, I am very very white, like sandy hair blue eyes sunscreen at all times Scandinavian white. Never been in any trouble in my entire life. I can't imagine what my experiences would be if I had black skin. Could not be any better that's for sure.

A lot of athletes back in the day did something similar to what kaep did. But we live in a butt hurt time where everyone is sensitive to everything. Although I can't remember anyone not standing up for the flag... I considered it disrespectful but he looks stupid not me. If he wants to look stupid it's his choice.
