mjp28
Well now they only need to play .500 ball to hit 100 wins. Remember the 100-44 and 99-62 (didn't play last make up game) teams? This team is close to those teams with kluber.
The Gipper
They still only have that game and a half on Houston...who is obviously keeping up some pace. Also, in the wildcard races....in the AL, technically, only two teams have been mathematically eliminated: White Sox and Tigers. While in the NL 7 teams have been eliminated. The best race in Baseball may in fact be for the final WC spot in the NL. Colorado holds a 1 game lead on Milwaukee. And only the AL East and the NL Central division title races are not settled......between the Yankees and Red Sox, and Cubs and Brewers.

Gets more teams in contention longer into the season, and if you don't want to risk getting knocked out of the playoffs in one game, then win your division. The last thing I want is for the Indians to sit around all week waiting for the 3 game series to conclude.
Dutch Oven
Another typical start for Kluber today vs the M's could pretty much seal the deal for Cy Young #2 for him. Kluber: 17-4, 2.35 ERA, 191.2 IP, 252 SO, 0.850 WHIP, 5 CG, 3 SHO Sale: 17-7, 2.75 ERA, 209.1 IP, 300 SO, 0.946 WHIP, 1 CG, 0 SHO The only thing Sale has going for him is a higher K/IP rate. Dutch Oven
Might as well hand the Cy Young to Kluber now. Won his 18th game today, and lowered his league-low ERA to 2.27 while adding another 10 strikeouts vs the Mariners.
