Political support for America in foreign countries is a wonderful thing. Obviously, if joining with America isn't something that is going to get foreign leaders run out of office it makes it a lot easier to get allies and partners to join us in addressing issues of global concern. And it'll be nice to have that back. Only dipshits thinks it's a wonderful thing when the world hates us, as if spite were a guiding American principle. Even Bush wanted to have more international support. He just didn't get it. If our allies, our competitors, and our enemies all have more favorable opinions of America of course it's a good thing.
