Guest mz.
I usually rely on the crappy crawls at the bottom of the network shows but I may be giving our local NPR a shot tonight. I know they'll be all over our local California stuff, which I'm more interested in than the Pres. race, truth be told...
Guest mz.
Kentucky is a McCain slam dunk 10% counted in KY and pretty much a dead heat...not that it'll hold up...
Guest Aloysius
Indiana... Just looking at some of the places where we have results in so far. Obama is substantially outperforming Kerry -- which is what he needs to do to win the state, of course, but the differences are pretty substantial. Steuben: Kerry 34%, Obama 42% DeKalb: Kerry 31%, Obama 38% Knox: Kerry 36%, Obama 54% Marshall: Kerry 31%, Obama 50% -- Nate Silver
Guest Aloysius
My mom tried to tell my Kentucky historically voted democratic, can anybody confirm this?I think the Clinton campaign made that argument when she won Kentucky. The last three Democratic presidents (Clinton, Carter, LBJ) won Kentucky, but all of them had the advantage of being Southerners. That eliminated some political & cultural barriers to winning the state. But JFK didn't win Kentucky in 1960, and he still managed to win the election. Guest Aloysius
What about Gore and Kerry? CNN called KY "ruby red." And McCain's been up as much as 20. 16 in the last poll. We never in question. Yeah. Gore & Kerry lost the state, and the Clinton campaign's argument for Kentucky as a bellwether was bullshit. Obama's going to win this; he doesn't need Kentucky.
