DEms have secretly declared a cold civil war in America

inevitably, they will lose bigly.

"Six years ago I wrote a book about Barack Obama in which I predicted that modern American liberalism, under pressures both fiscal and philosophical, would either go out of business or be forced to radicalize. If it chose the latter, I predicted, it could radicalize along two lines: towards socialism or towards an increasingly post-modern form of leadership. Today it is doing both. As we saw in Bernie Sanders’ campaign, the youngest generation of liberals is embracing socialism openly—something that would have been unheard of during the Cold War. At the same time, identity politics is on the ascendant, with its quasi-Nietzschean faith in race, sex, and power as the keys to being and meaning. In the #MeToo movement, for example—as we saw recently in Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation battle—the credo is, “Believe the woman.” In other words, truth will emerge not from an adversarial process weighing evidence and testimony before the bar of reason, but from yielding to the will of the more politically correct. “Her truth” is stronger than any objective or disinterested truth.

In the Claremont Review of Books, we have described our current political scene as a cold civil war. A cold civil war is better than a hot civil war, but it is not a good situation for a country to be in. Underlying our cold civil war is the fact that America is torn increasingly between two rival constitutions, two cultures, two ways of life."

The only hope I see on the conservative side is that the dems go too extreme with their left wing ideas. Other than that I see the dems in the driver seat for the foreseeable future. The trends are all heading their way. The big blue states get bluer and red states are turning more purple.

And then there is this. And she might be right?

On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear the Romeike’s appeal – paving the way for the Christian family of eight to be deported.

Coupled with the decision by the Supreme Court not to take the Planned Parenthood case yesterday so much for all the hand wringing and gnashing of teeth from the left about this so called conservative Supreme Court.

From Woody's point of view Cal he probably thinks the country is heading in the right direction. I don't and I hate to see the country my grandchildren will be living in the not so distant future. The socialist policies will not work and the PC culture still is spinning out of control and making this country into something George Orwelle predicted. It didn't happen in 1984 but in 2018 it is looking more Orwellian all the time. Thankfully we have a constitution written by wiser people than most today but the constitution is also under attack by those who think they know better than the founders

We have a lot of smart people in this country but what we are lacking is what the "old book" calls wisdom. There is a shortage of wisdom.

I never said I think it is going the right way

But I think your views of secret, underground, deep state civil war nonsense is hilarious

I agree with this. We are very divided in this country, probably more so than I can ever remember.

What Cal posted:

"Six years ago I wrote a book about Barack Obama in which I predicted that modern American liberalism, under pressures both fiscal and philosophical, would either go out of business or be forced to radicalize.

I agree with this too. The left has swung very far to the left today and socialism is becoming more and more popular.

I agree . Identity politics is playing a huge part in the left today and this was total nonsense to "believe the woman" as if it was not possible for a woman to lie and forgetting about a presumption of innocence and not looking to evidence.

You guys better buy some more guns!!!!

And do some prepping for the bad times they are a coming....The tax cuts and regulation cutting by the Trump administration and republican congress have done a super job in revving up the economy but even with taking in record tax revenue the national debt continues to rise. I agree 100 percent with the tax cuts and reduction of regulations and trying to grow the economy out of debt. That is only one part of the equation. When growing the economy and getting record tax revenue does not stop the national debt from going even higher you have got to be thinking about cutting back on spending. Neither party has shown any willingness to make any sacrifices in cutting spending. Cutting spending is probably not the best thing to run on to be elected. Who wants to eat fast food when on a credit card you can eat at a really nice buffet? Of course when spending on a credit card there always comes a day of reckoning.

The dems alternative of higher taxes does raise tax revenue but is counter productive to growing the economy.  The can has already been kicked to the end of the road in regards to doing anything about reducing our national debt.

Cal has always had this right all along. There is big serious trouble ahead.

that's a good start. I have trained the possum that lives under our back porch to attack any liberal/ any thief, any illegal, or any woodpecker that tries to get on said porch.

On the front - I set up beach balls of heated molasses on the roof, and a UV light beam - if anything breaks the beam, a switch flies and releases those hot molasses beach balls and they roll down the roof. I tested it on a snowman; it ended up looking like a giant frozen chocolate Easter bunny.

Around the outer perimeter, I have paintball mini-machine guns that fire balls of colored get that contains poison ivy oil.

Haven't tested it yet - too new. But I'll bet it would cold-cock a woodpecker.....

Old school midievil technology of dumping hot oil on those storming the castle meets Cal's high tech uv light beam...lol

Hey it's almost as if you are part of an apocalyptic cult. Oh wait you are. "The bad times they are coming" said by every Christian since 35 AD. Hey you've been wrong for 2000 years, why stop now. ;)

" trying to grow the economy out of debt" - bahhahabaha

The country's budget deficit in the first two months of fiscal 2019, which began Oct. 1, was 50 percent higher than in the same period the previous year, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), though the figure was inflated by timing.

In October and November, the federal government spent $303 billion more than it took in, compared to $202 billion in the same period of fiscal 2018, according to the CBO.

Major takeaways from what I posted:

*We are taking in record tax revenue yet the debt grows higher so we have a spending problem

*Neither party seems capable of budget cuts to get spending under control

* What I didn't post but since you brought it up we are living in the end times. No matter what anyone said before there were prophecies that had to be fulfilled before the end times such as more recent history of Israel coming back as a nation. The end time clock started ticking in 1948 with the rebirth of the nation of Israel.

Sure you are so special that JESUS! is coming back during your life time. - Thought every Christian in history.

“For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds. Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.“ (Matthew 16: 27, 28)

Seems Jesus was wrong. But I'm sure you're right.

Was Jesus wrong when He told the disciples that some of them would 'not taste death until they see the kingdom of God' (Luke 9:27; Matthew 16:28; Mark 9:1)?

Will of course you don't think he is wrong. How can a super duper god be wrong. So you have to change the meaning of words and "translate" it differently.
