THE BROWNS BOARD

Super Bowl Zero

Since the Browns won't be playing in yet another Super Bowl, let's go back and watch what was (basically) the first Super Bowl, when the upstart Cleveland Browns played the two-time defending NFL champion Philadelphia Eagles in front of 85,000 fans at Philadelphia's Municipal Stadium. The NFL Commissioner cleverly scheduled the Browns - who won all four AAFC titles - against the Eagles on the season opening week of 1950. The Eagles had gone 20-3-1 the two previous seasons, and were supremely confident against the "team with the high school coach who played in the bush league".
