These corrupt, power mongering lifers in our gov run things, and if you get in their way, they think they can squash you by any means necessary. Very strange - it's so much like the tv series "Shooter" where the dangerous secret group of bureaucrats tell judges, presidents, and anybody else what to do, what to say, etc etc, and if you don't, you could end up like so many have who were disassociated from the clinton group. I think it's clear. Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin, they are the power structure and they do not like being opposed. The idea that some outsider can shake things up infuriates them. Not unlike the major Studios being pissed off at Netflix and Amazon video. Also I bet there are plenty of Democrats who are wholeheartedly against illegal immigration but scared to death to Buck the party bosses.
