 The key is called PEMDAS performed in this order. Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction all done in that order left to right.

So it is 50 + 50 - 0 + 2 + 2 = 104. The multiplication of 25 X 0 = 0 had to be done before the additions and the subtraction.

If by * you mean X, then yes you multiply 25 X 0 first. And since that equals 0 it really has no effect when you subtract it from 50 + 50. So that equals 100 + 4 from the two added 2s.
