Cal, could be but I can tell you I can't go into a local coffee shop anymore. The hate towards the Ds is pretty severe (probably due to whack jobs like AOC).

Some of these folks think that because I told them I was a D, I'm a bad man, Socialist, Communist, you name it.

I'm just a Browns fan, former Union President, who leans a tad left. So I'm wearing the "Scarlett Letter."

Social media has aided and abetted the "hate," or severe disagreements (that's what I call it).

The problem with the democrat party is they don't lean just a tad to the left anymore. The party has been taken over by the extreme left.

The problem with the GOP party is they don't lean just a tad to the right anymore. The party has been taken over by the extreme right.

Not mutually exclusive observations.😁

So exactly which policies of the Republican Party do you think have taking on a hard right position? And further how do they differ from the ones from your own party assuming that you are or will at least support the Democrat?

We will find out for sure in 2020 if the democrat positions are out of the mainstream of the American people. I think they are and that plays into Trump being re-elected as the dems have swung too far to the left. You go lefty's... MAGA.

Climate Change Denial

Religion Nut Baggery

Far Right Judges

Rejection of expertise

Xenophobia

Support of authoritarian governments

Homophobia

Rejection of Reagan's policies

Disregard of corruption

Disregard of Constitution

Let me be clear. I don't believe what Old stated or my response. His views are that of the average Fox News viewer. The endless, left hates America, college student hate America, athletes hate America, etc. I'm smart enough to understand, Fox News has been pushing the "far left" garbage as much as they can and Old just falls for that shit.  Most people are closer to the center. Unfortunately thanks to gerrymandering, apathy to voting, and 24-news cycle, the far-left and far-right politicians are the one that end of winning a lot of elections. Also to add-on, these "new" left ideas like medicare for all and taxing the rich aren't far left anymore.

The poll found that Americans initially support “Medicare-for-all,” 56 percent to 42 percent.

Support for raising taxes is widespread, according to a new poll, which found that 76% of registered voters want the wealthiest Americans to pay more.

http://fortune.com/2019/02/04/support-for-tax-increase-on-wealthy-americans-poll/

Wait what I'm a thinking. ALL POLLS ARE FAKE....

It isn't a crisis for me. More like an irritation that people choose to use as a hill to die on while just trying to enjoy a meal. I don't need "the other guy is super bad" conversation while I try to enjoy a steak.

What if the other guy is super bad and wants to take away your steak eating privileges?

If liberals don't like it, they ban it

There is a little piece making its way around the Internet. It has turned viral mostly because many see so much truth in it.

"If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants meat products banned.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he tries to better his situation.

A liberal wants to know who is going to fix it for him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Liberals want those they don't like to be silenced.

If a conservative is a nonbeliever, he doesn't go to church.

If a liberal is a nonbeliever he wants any mention of religion silenced, unless, of course, the religion is from another culture.

If a conservative needs health care he shops for it, or looks for a job that will provide it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us provide for it.a Conservative will read this and will forward it, so his friends can have a good laugh.

See the stupid talking points about hamburgers. I mean how stupid do you have to be to buy into that garbage. It's funny the "Facebook generation" is the baby boomers, too bad they were never taught critical thinking.

Maybe. The far left certainly gathers the most headlines, but I'm not so sure the "average Joe" Dem agrees with those extremes.

Trouble is, Bob, the far left IS mainstream democrat party now. Even the House speaker is cta (covering their asses) at every turn.

Even B. Sanders admits it's true.

Possibly not. I still most of my friends who are old school Democrats seem to hate Trump a lot more then they should. We still get along fine and rarely talk politics as is the case anywhere except on a political board.

Anymore, most of the "liberal this" can just be interchanged with "conservative this". Just two sides in conflict over which issue they want to have imposed upon everyone else. (ex: social conservatives). It is all annoying as shit to me and 9 times out of 10 is born out of people who only talk to people who share their opinion. It isn't one side who does it. They all want an echo chamber. My preference is just that I would like to avoid it all together because I trust neither side in any way shape or form so why the cheerleading?

You are right it happens on both sides but when you put what you are saying on a scale and weigh it out it is heavily tilted towards the liberal democrats positions being forced down the populace through either the government or judicial system. Probably the biggest issue on the social conservative side today is the abortion issue. The article I posted uses this below as an illustration of why it is different because it involves the protection of life which is a function of government:

"It is a legitimate function of government to protect life and property. Governments should, for example, prohibit murder. At the very least, governments should not encourage it. If certain citizens believe that abortion is a type of murder, then it makes sense for them to petition the government to prevent it. If a government fails to fulfill its responsibilities, then it is logical for those citizens to demand that it do so.

This is not the same as the person who hates yellow cars demanding that the government ban all yellow cars (or a liberal democrat NY mayor wanting the Big Gulp banned OBF). Banning cars is a dictatorial and questionable governmental function while the protection of life is not.

Partisan Hate Is Becoming a National Crisis

Shortly after the Senate vote, Trump tweeted: "I look forward to VETOING the just passed Democrat inspired Resolution which would OPEN BORDERS while increasing Crime, Drugs, and Trafficking in our Country." He further thanked "all of the Strong Republicans who voted to support Border Security and our desperately needed WALL!"

Trump urged Republicans to stand with him ahead of the vote, tweeting “a vote for today’s resolution by Republican Senators is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, Crime, and the Open Border Democrats!”
