If you were only older you would have appreciated the economic growth in the 80's under Reagan after the four dismal years from Jimmy Carter in the 70's. What is going on now with Trump's economy is similar in that way. After 8 dismal years under Obama and the promised economic recovery that never happened Trump used the same old tried and true formula of Reagan with tax cuts and less government regulations. There's a certain amt of "deficit spending" that is ok but Reagain went way far beyond the line and every potus after him followed suit to one varying degree or another. The time of printing the worlds reserve with impunity is coming to an end or already has. Having the worlds sole reserve currency was the only way Reagan got away with that spending. If I were more educated I would probably say Reagan was working with a democrat congress and to get the tax cuts he went along with the dems spending. Ideally you would like to see a reduction in spending with tax cuts but Reagan was pragmatic and took what he could get. The tax cuts brought on a huge economic boost that lasted for many years.
