"History tells us they died for their faith."

What history is that? The Bible? Because the Romans were pretty much the best record keepers in ancient times. We know details of political intrigues going back centuries before Jesus' time.  Yet there are no Roman records of Jesus or the apostles even though Constantine adhered to Christianity and in order to make that stick it would really have behooved them to produce some kind of record of that Christ fellow.

Whew. There's a lot to unpack there. If you read it critically instead of fawningly you'll see that there's still no historical evidence or records of Jesus and certainly not contemporary accounts.

That there are records of early Christianity being a thing is not a surprise nor is it evidence of anything. We know it was a thing because there's, you know, records of it.

There's lots of records of early Islam too. You buy that story, don't you?

Right? You believe that one? I mean there's a book about it.

Did Muhammad Perform Miracles Like Jesus Did?

Biblical prophets performed miracles to establish their credentials. For example, Moses said to God in Exodus 4:1, “What if [the Israelites] do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you’?” How did God respond? He told Moses to throw his staff to the ground; instantly, it turned into a snake. He told Moses to pick it up by its tail; it turned back into a staff. Then God said in Exodus 4:5, “This . . . is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”

A similar thing happened to Elijah on Mount Carmel: He was challenged, and God sent down fire from heaven to confirm he was a true prophet (see 1 Kings 18:16–39). As for Jesus, he actually came out and said, “Do not believe me unless I do [miracles] of my Father” (John 10:37). And then he did them. Even Nicodemus conceded this when he said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him” (John 3:2).

This kind of confirmation never happened on Muhammad’s behalf. In fact, Muhammad, the founder of Islam, actually believed Jesus was a prophet who performed miracles, including raising the dead. Muslims also believe Moses and Elijah performed miracles. However, in the Koran when unbelievers challenged Muhammad to perform a miracle, he refused. He merely said they should read a chapter in the Koran. (See Sura 2:118; 3:181–84; 4:153; 6:8,9,37 in the Koran.) And yet Muhammad himself said, “God hath certainly power to send down a sign” (Sura 6:37). He even said, “They [will] say: ‘Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?’” (Sura 6:37). Unlike Jesus, miracles were not a sign of Muhammad’s ministry. It wasn’t until 150 or 200 years after Muhammad’s death that his followers invented miracles and ascribed them to him.

I study the bible but not church history or even other faiths. The questions you ask I admit I have to look up on the internet. I found this article above which I thought was interesting. My vision which has served me well since accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior has been this. I take one miracle by faith (that God promised to preserve His word Isaiah 40:8) and therefore His word can be trusted today.

I have experienced a few miracles in my own life. When my son was in elementary school they did a hearing test and found he had a hearing problem and referred us to a specialist. The specialist said he had 50 percent hearing loss in both ears, it was permanent and he would have to wear hearing aids the rest of his life. We got a second opinion at Children's Hospital and they said the same thing as the specialist. We set up an appointment to get him fitted for hearing aids and the day before he went to get the hearing aids a man at our church came up to me and said he really felt strongly to pray with my son about his hearing and asked permission. I said yes and he prayed. The next day we went to get my son his hearing aids and they tested him again and then the doctor questioned me why I would send a child to get hearing aids who had 100 percent perfect hearing. He is in his 30's now and still no problem with his hearing. That is one instance, there have been others.

i just read "did mohammed perform miracles" and i stopped there becaise i know where thats going. No mohammed didnt create "miracles".....and islam doesnt clsim he did. But he did lead his people in direct battle against the babylonians. Which if looked at historically.....is more important  than anything jesus "allegedly" did. Had the babylonians not been defeated by him.....christianity nor any of the 3 religions would be around today. Remember these were virgin sacrificing self indulgent twats. The world might look compketely different and not for the better today if not for him...which is a profoind statement given what fuckbags humanity has turned out to be....
