Europe came up with a barter like trade system called instex…..in order for European countries to circumvent U.S sanctions. If Trump isn't careful U.S sanctions won't be the only thing getting circumvented and not even close to being the most serious....the U.S dollar could be getting circumvented shortly and that's essentially a catastrophe for our economy. Commodities like oil. start getting traded abroad without American dollars changing hands, our economy is in the shitter within weeks. Not a slump, not a "bear", not even a recession...."shitter". The $$ sitting in our accounts would plummet in value nearly overnight. The kind of pricing restructuring we would see, we would "have" to see...is mind boggling. If it were to happen quickly, something thought "inconceivable" just a few short years ago...I don't know how 10's of millions of people wouldn't die in that economic restructuring. That would be the kind of shit Cal's been talking about here for years as being ready for.
OldBrownsFan
I don't remember Trump doing anything more than ask NATO countries to pay their fair share...not something too outrageous to ask.

OldBrownsFan
NATO chief thanks Trump for leadership on military spending NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg praised President Donald Trump on Thursday for pushing countries in the alliance to boost their defense spending, an issue that has driven a wedge between Trump and Europe before. “Let me thank you for the leadership you show on the issue of defense spending because it is very important that we all contribute more to our shared security, and it is really having an impact because, as you said, allies are now spending more on defense,” Stoltenberg said while taking reporters’ questions after the leaders met at the White House. “All allies are increasing their defense budgets.” ..............Stoltenberg later told the president: “Your leadership on defense spending has really helped to make a difference.”......... Early in his administration, Trump scared European allies by deciding on the fly to scrap a public affirmation of Article 5, the longstanding lynchpin of the alliance that guarantees the countries’ commitment to mutual defense. But by June 2017, he committed to the article. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/17/nato-jens-stoltenberg-donald-trump-military-spending-595573

This is one area I gave Trump all the credit for. But now he's doing it with Japan which is a major non nato ally and buys advanced equipment from us on the regular. But my earlier point stands, you can harp the nato countries all you want for not paying their share..they deserved that. But when you question whether nato should even exist...well then don't go running to them for a "coalition" when a country like Iran says fuck right off.
