even in Ohio.Of course they know registration leads to confiscation every single time. That is why they

want universal gun registration. Not happenin. Nobody in their right mind honestly thinks criminals will register their

guns.

Bloomberg is meddling with Ohio again

The petition to put universal background checks on the ballot just took a step forward. The Attorney General, to his credit, rejected the petition initially because the language was inaccurate. But as expected, the language was revised and resubmitted, so the AG had no legal choice but to approve it.

Now the Ohio Ballot Board must decide if the proposal contains one or multiple laws. Then the petitioners must collect signatures to proceed. If the petition advances, it would be up to Ohio lawmakers to enact legislation. If they say no, the petition could then be presented to voters on a ballot.

Let's first understand that the group behind this petition, Ohioans for Gun Safety, is NOT a grassroots group. It's actually Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety, a national anti-gun group, once again meddling in our affairs and using smoke and mirrors to appear to be something they're not.

Second, let's also understand that universal background checks will NOT affect crime in any way. Studies show that violent criminals get their guns on the black market by way of illegal acts, such as theft and straw purchases.

Violent criminals have never been willing to submit to background checks and never will. So laws like this are merely a means of suppressing lawful transactions, NOT a means of reducing crime.

The goal is to funnel all purchases through licensed dealers as a means of creating a paper trail so that eventually a registry of all guns and owners can be created, which is the first step toward confiscation. New Zealand is currently showing us how willing governments are to seize guns based on politics and emotion.

We've been saying it for years: those who support gun control don't want to just "control" your guns. They want your "take" your guns.
