NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

This is probably the best e-mail I've seen in a long, long time. The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA. This guy should run for President one day....

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes ..

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

0D

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

Sad. What an awful commentary on how people actually view the impoverished.

I'm both embarrassed to have read it and to be communicating with you.

It isn't about the impoverished. The impoverished need our help.

It's about freeloading, crack-smoking, kids abusing/starving leech-off-the-system

and laugh about it dregs of our American society, who couldn't care less to try

and make a life for themselves, or do the simple things normal, healthy people do

for themselves...

You seem to glorify the above. That is what's sad. You always seem to TRY to miss the point.

Call I agree the freeloaders shouldn't get a dime. The question is how do you distinguish who's a freeloader or not?

There should be standards for help.

Simple ones - tour the house - it's what social workers do - if the children don't have shoes, have only beer and whiskey in the fridge,

and donuts, change the help to SHOES, and HEALTHY FOOD, and CLOTHES, and JOB TRAINING, and PAID RENT.

NO booze, no dope, no big screen tv, no new expensive stereo.

The scene of a mother's big screen tv, fancy new stereo, and beer in the fridge, while her kids ran the streets without shoes,

is a memory I wish I didn't have when these discussions come up.

You do NOT help the listless subculturally dependent and irresponsible poor by giving them $$$$$$, and in doing that,

you are actually reinforcing what they do.

And the kids suffer all too often.

Thanks for trying to make my case for me, Inspecta. I'm embarrassed to cmmunicate with people like cal because they're so God damn transparent it's sickening. Cal does not give a shit about anyone but himself.

FOR THE RECORD: I've never said that nobody cheats the system, nor have I ever even come close to condoning said cheating. What I have been saying is that killing the system because (what I feel is) a few abuse the system takes food etc. out of the mouths of people and families that truly need assistance.

All this crap people like cal sling, under the bullshit guise of "fixing the system" is just another example of a way a dude like himself wants to neglect the needy.

If you think it's Liberal Whining, so be it.

The Preamble to the Constitution is just a brief introductory statement of the fundamental purposes and guiding principles which the Constitution.

What you are proposing are additional ammendments to the Constitution, and piss-poor ones at that. Partisan politics do not belong anywhere near the Constitution.

Also, the Phrase "in God we Trust" was only added to our currency in the 1960's, in a lame attempt to combat communism. Any idiot that uses that as a basis for the intentions of the founders needs to be removed from office immediately.

Inspecta: I think both of our hearts are in the right place here, and we agree that shit needs fixing. We do disagree on how widespread the cheating is, but that's really not that important, as we agree that help needs to get to those that need it. If there was a simple and cost-effective way to make sure help got to those that needed it without supporting cheaters, I'd of course be all for it. But nobody's come up with it yet, obviously.

Whooooh Whoooh Whooooh. A branch of the government entering peoples houses without notice, checking up on them?

Why not video camera?

There are social workers in place now that are getting paid $25k a year and understaffed. Next idea. Your idea is already in place.

I will applaud you, you didn't mention Obama or Stalin once. I am glad you see this issue as a NATIONAL issue that has had problems since the 40's. And a problem that Obama inherited.

p.s. I keep my whiskey in the freezer.

Yeah, the 1996 welfare reform bill added a bunch of new restrictions. You can read about it here:

Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act

2 years! These need to be tighter. Maybe Obama can use some of the trillions to be pumped into social worker salary also.

Face it - it's TRUE. The American people change the direction of the American ship to stay on course.

In fact, about 1/3 of Democrats say they are more conservative now.

It's just a matter of time, til the ship changes course to stay going in the AMERICAN right direction.

In fact, Republicans and Indpedents, a sizeable number of them, are also saying they are more conservative now.

Pendulum. Ship changing bearing.

Well, you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Take a look at my cousin: he's broke, don't do shit.

Looks like Jake the Snake, of old time "pro wrastlin" ...

I imagine that is what mz the pussy looks like. But about 100 lbs skinny-er, with no tan.

With a beanie cap on, with a whirlygig on top. And bald, with no mustache.

Kinda like a pink little nerdish Klingon wearing a tutu.

Optimism? Wait, I thought we were all doomed. This can't be right?

A prime target of the left.

Democrat spokesperson Michael Moore blamed it and Dick Clark for a murder in Michigan.

Hasn't that two year provision been stripped out?
