Because they want it to happen. Trump has been loyal to those who supported him. The best money the NRA ever spent was supporting Trump in 2016. All the constitutional judges Trump has appointed will make a difference down the road when democrat controlled states (like recently Virginia) start enacting illegal gun laws that eventually make their way to federal courts. And yes we do have Obama and Trump judges and anyone who follows the rulings of the court knows it. Trump has said some things previously that would make pro 2a advocates cringe but it appears to me the NRA does have his ear and he reverses course. Anyway I would hope anyone pro 2a would appreciate Trump over any of the dems particularly Hillary Clinton who was proposing gun confiscation laws like Australia in 2016.
