what are you even talking about? You're just responding with complete nonsense. What did I say in any way that indicated I thought Pelosi was a secret republican?

how stupid are you? Seriously, how dumb are you? How are you so completely warped in the head when it comes to anything political? What genetic trait do you have that removes all common sense when it comes to blindly defend your political "team"? To be able to refuse any basic form of critical thinking when politics is involved?

How are there people like you, on both sides, out in our country and how do we fix it?

so STFU woodpecker. You brought up "no republican pork in the bill" to the subject Pelosi stalls the pandemic cash help bill.

What the hell does republican pork have to do with anything? She is a democrat, and is stopping the passage of the cash to Americans in time of crisis bill.

You are just being an azzhole woodypeckerhead. All you can do is ask stupid ass questions to any subject, and ridicule/argue with anyone you can, who isn't a possible future "friend me".

you really are a sad birdbrain. Bird flu on you?

Sigh

I'll take this very slow for you. One last attempt

The Republicans are proposing a bill. The main point is relief checks. Great. (#YangGang)

Pelosi is opposing the bill in its current state. This is assumed to be because she wants to add pro Dem provisions to it.

You're now assuming her overwhelming hate of Trump is so strong she's blocking a bill to give Americans free money during a crisis. This would be political suicide if there was nothing else. Or she's blocking it to add random Dem stuff that doesn't relate. Also, seems pretty foolish.

Now, alternatively, the original Republican bill can have earmarks that have nothing to do with relief checks. Or at the very least there could be very pro Republican measures that are thrown in there. There are reports the bill includes massive business tax cuts and is very pro business, even though it's a relief check bill for citizens.

So in this case it would be the Republicans adding the pork and trying to sneak that in on a bill meant to help the working class, and Pelosi is trying to stop that.

Point being this probably isn't Pelosi saying "fuck the American people" just cuz she doesn't like Trump.

On a Thursday conference call featuring more than 200 members of the House Democratic caucus, lawmakers one by one laid out a sweeping wish list of provisions they want to see included in the nascent package.

Instead of just rolling out a package to help America, they want to complicate it by adding in extra things not pertaining to the coronavirus outbreak.

Some of the things they want added to the coronavirus package include a boost in infrastructure spending, an expansion of Social Security benefits and funding for states to set up an all-mail voting system in the event the pandemic extends into November’s elections.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) , according to a source on the call.

Alright so Vambo just copy and pasted an article from a site that pops up as an error the first time for me, and then eventually slowly loads. And if you Google it the site seems to appear on many fake news sites.

If you go down the rabbit whole of sources to try and find a legitimate one it's still just an unnamed source. I'm sure he said something similar though.

If you go through the quotes on record about what they want or don't want they seem reasonable to me. I would agree with not making this bill very company heavy. Especially in industries already enjoying great tax breaks.

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/488543-house-democrats-eyeing-much-broader-phase-3-stimulus

It also looks like Pelosi and house Dems already agreed with Trump on phase 2 of a relief plan.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.axios.com/senate-passes-house-coronavirus-relief-package-d0850224-11dc-44d9-84d8-929f2a1d6477.html

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/18/coronavirus-updates-senate-passes-paid-leave-relief-bill.html

So negotiations are moving. If Reps are trying to fit in some crazy tax cuts for big businesses I can understand why Dems are fighting it. But if you only visit clearly biased sites you're only going to get one view. Though I know that's what you're looking to do ...

only? a birdbrain bitches about sources every single thread when arguing with somebody. How the heyl are we supposed to give you a cnn or msnbc link you WOULD  ? respect, when they will never print the truth about anything?

https://www.redstate.com/elizabeth-vaughn/2020/03/03/pelosi-delayed-vote-on-coronavirus-funding-so-dccc-could-run-super-tuesday-ads-against-7-gop-candidates/

Speaking with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday night, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, “Look how much politics they want to play. The dirty little secret. We have the coronavirus. We need to fund this. You know what Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker, did?  She withheld the bill last week. You know why? So the DCCC could run ads against seven Republicans.”

Ingraham asked, “How many people ran ads on the coronavirus, fundraising appeals?”

“I don’t know how many ran, but they actually took the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, spent money, went into these seven Republican seats to campaign against them about the coronavirus when she’s the Speaker of the House. Instead of putting America first, she put her politics first and kept the bill from coming to the floor,” McCarthy explained.

What a scam—Speaker Pelosi held up the vote on coronavirus funding so that her campaign team could run ads against Republicans for Super Tuesday.

— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) March 3, 2020

This is not surprising. For the Democrats, the coronavirus outbreak has become their latest weapon with which to damage the President.

McCarthy brought this up during a GOP press conference today. He told reporters:

Last week, we had an opportunity to bring forth the Supplemental, the needed funds for public health and others to deal with this item. We are not the majority. We cannot determine the floor, so Speaker Pelosi left, and had us leave Congress. This week, we hope we’re going to be able to bring it up.

The one concerning issue that I have, not as just the leader of the Republicans, but really as an American. Why didn’t we vote on it last week? And why now is the Democratic arm of the DCCC running ads against seven Republicans? On something they could not vote on, because they could not control it. Are they playing politics and holding the money up so their political arm can attack Republicans on this issue? Can they, for one time put people before politics? I think they owe the American people an apology. I think the Speaker needs to apologize. Cheri Bustos needs to take those ads down and stop playing politics with this.

America is nervous. We’ve been preparing for years in advance. We’ve got to make sure we have all the needed resources there.

So bring the bill to the floor.

Earlier in the conference, the ranking member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), spoke and said that Democrats were trying to include HR3 (Elijah Cummings’ Lower Drug Costs Now Act) with the bill for coronavirus funding. HR3 is a very controversial bill which will require some debate. Walden basically said, let’s keep this separate, because the funds to fight the coronavirus crisis are needed now.

It was a valiant effort Republicans, but unfortunately, I doubt too many of the journalists in the room will be reporting on it.

Are Dems Refusing to Support $2 Trillion Stim Bill Unless It Includes a Bailout for Planned Parenthood?

https://pjmedia.com/trending/democrats-refusing-to-support-2-trillion-stim-bill-unless-it-includes-a-bailout-for-planned-parenthood/?fbclid=IwAR3DW24Advw956q24LgUkoGZnuFROgjbBOvGZwXt1nfZrzyZ2-64rkMZ-Ss

Even more ominous to Democrats was a Medicaid restriction that would hurt Planned Parenthood and other non-profits.

A Democratic aide said that the small business provision was drafted to exclude non-profits who receive Medicaid from being eligible for Small Business Administration assistance offered under the bill. That, according to the aide, would impact Planned Parenthood but also community health centers, rape crisis centers and disability service providers.

Planned Parenthood is not a "small business" and non-profits, as their name implies, aren't "businesses" either. Tens of millions of dollars -- or more -- could be denied to real small businesses who need that cash as well.

So do you really think this proposal is just about UBI payments and that Pelosi is shutting down just the idea of those payments?

Or maybe there is more being put in the bill and she's against what's in that "more"?

What do you think?

I think she hates the president and would try to block anything regardless of what it is. From my meager understanding of her opposition much of it boils done to trying to prevent businesses from buying back stock. Which is probably a good idea to Bernie and AOC but when this financial problem turns the corner the buyback of stock by not only businesses but huge investment firms mutual funds etc etc will drive the train of recovery. And whether the power to the people folks are happy about that or not anybody who relies on the stock market and growth for the retirement were there income and that includes Social Security should try to understand.

Report: Nancy Pelosi had 'wishlist' of  unrelated demands for coronavirus bill, killing bipartisan agreement

'Jaw dropping'

John Bresnahan, Politico's Washington bureau chief, reported that Pelosi had a "laundry list" of new demands, including many items completely unrelated to COVID-19 relief, like election security funding, student loan debt forgiveness, and a "host of other issues."

Despite the Senate's agreement, Pelosi also revealed on Sunday that House Democrats would move forward with their own coronavirus relief package.

According to Politico, Pelosi's actions even have some members of the Democratic caucus questioning her motives.

Many of those same provisions are also being negotiated in the Senate bill but some House Democrats wanted to go even further, using the urgency of the herculean package to achieve broader, long term policy goals like a massive infrastructure deal.

But even some House Democrats are privately wondering what is Pelosi's endgame, especially given that lawmakers, including many in her own caucus, don't even want to return to Washington at all, much less for a standoff with the Senate.

The motive, according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, is political — it is all about hurting President Donald Trump.

"Some Dems are betting that Trump will he received as Bush post-Katrina as opposed to Bush post-9/11. And there's a split among Dems about how they ought to be handling Trump in this moment, which so far has ended up benefiting the president," Haberman reported Sunday.

Democrats have already seized on the moment to further demonize Republicans.

It is well established that Republicans and Democrats in the Senate had come to an agreement on the relief package. But after Pelosi's bucking, Democrats began circulating talking points that blamed Republicans for the impasse. They claimed Republicans attempted to insert a $500 billion "slush fund" into the bill.

But according to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Democrats are just playing games.

"The notion that we have time to play games here with the American economy and the American people is utterly absurd," he said in a fiery speech on the Senate floor Sunday night.

of course, Woody pseudo-intellectually flips the truth and inquires about do we know if any republicans....... the DEMS CONTROL THE HOUSE.
