THE BROWNS BOARD

Reaping what they've sown

Trump lacked what could be called anything remotely close to leadership during the pandemic. Instead, he attacked democrat governors and turned masks into a political statement. In return, the people have voted his ass out, particularly those from Michigan and John McCain's Arizona.

The Democrats were handed what should have been a layup for the 2020 election because of the above. They played politics with the second stimulus check while Americans are out there struggling. Instead of a message for unity, they doubled and tripled down on calling anyone who supports Trump racist, sexist and backwards. They kept their mouths shut on criticisms of rioting and looting until it became politically inconvenient for them. Now they've pushed the Hispanic vote right into the arms of the GOP, they won't win back the Senate, they'll lose seats in the House.

I voted for Trump. I have NO RAGRETS over my vote. My worst fear was a democrat WH, Senate, and House passing batshit crazy legislation like court packing, gun grabbing, and making PR a state for electoral college purposes. I'll take president Biden without a matching Congress. No harm done. Today's a good day.

And I voted for Biden and a bunch of Republicans to assure that the wackos from neither party extreme could run the country.

Perfect outcome for America if that is indeed how it finally plays out. Either way it goes I will proudly assist tomorrow along with veterans from both sides of the fence in putting out a whole series of American flags spaced 20 feet apart all along a mile long median through the heart of this housing area for Veteran's Day just like I do for Memorial Day. And I will send an email to my Gold Star Mother friend on the 11th as I do both days too, so she knows someone still remembers her only son killed in Iraq. It's good to be an American and the country will survive both extremes.

It sounds like the hispanic vote isn't just one big monolith. Hispanics in the southeast voted differently than those in the southwest. It'll be interesting to see the breakdown on everything.

Overall it was reported by a Hispanic American researcher who keeps up with it that Hispanics voted about 70% for Biden overall, just not in Miami-Dade or S. Texas.

It's bad all across the board. I've thought that the Cuban-Americans were going to carry Florida for Trump since 2016. That's not really a surprise. The people in these counties are not Cubans. They're Mexican-Americans. We are watching both political parties undergoing a seismic demographic shift. You've got neocons like Kasich outright endorsing Biden and being considered for Biden cabinet positions.

It's stupid but not unexpected that a lot of people think everybody that speak Spanish it's the same.

Remember that the Cubans are here in the first place because they are driven out of their homes by Castro. And regardless of the fact some people here think Castor was cool those who were stripped of their property and their families raped and murdered probably don't agree.

And a lot of Venezuelans left Chavez/Maduro's socialist dictatorship and also reacted to that selling point by Trump. They also live primarily in Miami-Dade.
