FairHooker11
😦 10 yrs ago took my teenage son to see a show - Mountain warming up for Joe Satriani West, Lang and cant remember (younger bassist) still forceful and a fun show! drummer Corky Lang kept bouncing drum sticks off his kit into the crowd! Leslie West later joined Satriani for the finale and offered his Les Paul forJoe to play- to which he said was too heavy, slows him down! RIP
nickers
Leslie West has had a lasting influence on my sound and playing since I first hear Mountain live at Woodstock... Those soaring solos on Theme For an Imaginary Western still resonates in my head.. That singing quality West had influenced everybody from Michael Schenker to Steve Vai and everyone inbetween.. He gave rock it's first real hard edged sound by plugging his guitar into a Sun PA head and a Sun Pa bath tub cabinet with 8 ten inch speakers.. He set the standard for metal and rock .. A pioneer that will greatly be missed along with his quick witted humour... RIP Big Fella.. And Thank you!
