The Gipper
OK, you pancake eating motherfuckers......give your answers to these questions: 1. Which team is under the most pressure to make the right pick in this draft? (Let's exclude the Browns from this) 2. Which player drops like a lead balloon on Draft Day....ala Aaron Rodgers and others? 3. Which team do you think will be involved in the biggest Draft Day Trade? 4. Rob Gronkowski caught a football that was dropped 600 feet from a helicopter. Impressed? 5. Julius Erving did his first and second All Tim NBA teams. And he didn't put LeBron James on either squad. Jealousy a bit? 6. Name those NFL stadiums, present or former, that you have been in for some event (not just football).
The Gipper
My Answers: 1. Which team is under the most pressure to make the right pick in this draft? (Let's exclude the Browns from this) #1: 49ers. They traded away like 3 first round picks to go up to #3....they have the pressure to make the right pick (but it appears they may make the wrong pick if they go for Jones) #2: Bears. Both their HC and GM are on the chopping block if they don't get things right here #3. Patriots: They need to get a QB 2. Which player drops like a lead balloon on Draft Day....ala Aaron Rodgers and others? Top candidates: Mac Jones. If he does not go to the 49ers, I think he goes no higher than mid round....which is where he should at best be going anyway. Caleb Farley....partly because he just tested positive for Covid. That may cause some concern. Then Davonte Smith. Not sure why....Heisman Jinx? Maybe 3. Which team do you think will be involved in the biggest Draft Day Trade? Just a WAG: Pats trade up with Panthers, to get a QB, but not Jones, either Fields or Lance. 4. Rob Gronkowski caught a football that was dropped 600 feet from a helicopter. Impressed? Yes....but, actually more impressed with the toss....which from 600 feet was dead on accurate. 5. Julius Erving did his first and second All Tim NBA teams. And he didn't put LeBron James on either squad. Jealousy a bit? Absolutely there is jealousy involved. As great as Dr. J. was, he was supplanted from any consideration as the best Small Forward of all time by LeBron....and considering LeBron is the GOAT at any position, it is clearly jealousy. Dr. J. admitted a different sort of jealousy even: that he left LeBron off because he does not like the fact that he was instrumental in putting together a "Super Team". He didn't mind that Super Teams exist....he was in one himself with Moses Malone, Cheeks/Jones/Toney.....he just thinks that it should be up to the teams to do the job of putting a Super Team together and that the players should not be trying to do that themselves, as LeBron has done. 6. Name those NFL stadiums, present or former, that you have been in for some event (not just football). First Energy and Old Muni Stadium Cleveland. Three Rivers Stadium Pittsburgh (for a baseball game); Both Dolphins/Joe Robbie/whatever stadium (for a baseball game when the Marlins played there) and the old Orange Bowl...but for a Miami/South Carolina college football game. Nissan Stadium Nashville (with Hoorta and Flugel). Riverfront Stadium Cincinnati (for a baseball game) Old RCA Dome Indianapolis (for a convention). Wrigley Field, Chicago for a baseball game (Bears played there many years). Lambeau Field Green Bay...for a tour. The Metrodome Minnesota (for a baseball game). Old Busch Stadium St. Louis for a baseball game (Cardinals played there when they were in St. Louis. The Superdome, New Orleans for tour. NRG Stadium Houston for Browns/Texans game. Also... Old Kezar stadium, San Francisco....both 49ers and Raiders played there. It now basically looks like a high school field with some only about 10 rows of stands in it. Wasn't Pats....but the trade did involve a team moving up to get Fields....Da Bears. 6. Name those NFL stadiums, present or former, that you have been in for some event (not just football).
