Anyway near the end of Mickey's life his buddy Max Allan Collins started collaborating and carried on the character after Spillanes death. I lost interest after a few but picked up one solo by Collins called murder never knocks It was not bad at all with a good ending. It certainly hit on all the Hammer cliches but it did wrap up well.
