THE BROWNS BOARD

What is Stefanski doing?

How does a team line up with 12 guys before and after a timeout?
How does a team get penalized on lining up for a kick return? There's literally a tv timeout between every PAT and kickoff.
The number of preventable penalties at this point has got to be as bad, if not worse than, the year with Freddie.
Why can't we have Hunt and Chubb on the field at the same time?
Why does a fullback get carries when those two are your running backs?
When he was asked if he'd consider a QB change after the bye, he basically asked the reporter "Why would you want a qb change?"
He's completely mishandled the Baker injury since week 2. Baker is clearly too fucking injured to play competently, and yet he keeps throwing him out there.

Clean it up for fucks sake.

That's actually something I question. One in particular I understand the short pass philosophy but even given that how could they not find places for obj to catch a short pass on occasion? Also we have too many injuries which means that the pre season preparation might not have been strict enough. Speaking of strict why are there so many pre snap fouls? Illegal formation for God's sake? 12 men on the field. Shit the bed. False start?

opposing defenses have it figured out, by watching film. Play the run, stack the line a good bit, especially on first down.

Then cover short and get to a fairly injured and not that mobile qb. Add that to deserved penalties (too many offense changes/additions too soon?), and then add the opposing offensive lines get to hold and not be penalized, until they really

are so obvious and flagrant about it the 'refs' have no choice but to call it, then add it a great defensive effort, and a phantom totally uncalled for fake "defensive holding" on Jordan Elliot.......

a close game with Browns missing a freaking field goal, and wide receivers not getting open quickly (except for Landry) and a loss.

Teams are playing the short throws, and the Browns don't have a long threat except for Peoples-Jones and he gets serious attention now....

inconsistent, nice throws and catches here and there, not enough to win. again. But I was freaking PROUD of the defense.

worse, chris collinsworth - does he EVER shut the hell up?

He's going to "coach " himself out of a job.  Seems like he's just a coordinator playing head coach.

The too many men on the field debacle is just one of many things. And you could even see  Jerome Boger bust up laughing as he called the penalty, literally.

They took a timeout to avoid too many men on the field, so what do they do coming out of timeout, too many men on the field 😮

And the fact he has zero balls to sit Baker when he knows he should. This is HIS team, he's the boss.

I'll just say our special teams used to be among the league's best. Dawson & Cribbs were all we had to cheer for for the most part of the rebirth.

NFL Rule changes have ruined kickoff returns for every team, but our kicking game has been shaky for quite some time.

Gillan doing better of late, McLaughlin had a great start but is slumping. I was excited about Felton but he hasn't  done anything with punt returns all season.

Kickers can't live with them can't live without them....... and would like to choke them, occasionally.

on a 3rd and 5 hunt not in the game instead the pass went to felton which he dropped a sure first down

Toledo huge K.Hunt fan...but !

Might Hunts daddy find time to get his son open?

On the play where Baker fumbled the ball, the left tackle is beat the right tackle is beat nobody blocked the Free runners. Hunt doesn't get open until it's too late.. he's still jammed up right as Baker is about to get crushed by 4 guys. Conklin was missed.

Our coach is yet to have a season under .500!

Like most head coaches..Stef can only coach up to the 53 cards he was dealt...

or shall we go back to watching & drafting to coaching, such players as Deshone Kizer, whacking green squares into round holes?

good young building blocks were drafted to this side of the ball?

4 interceptions was the most Lamar Jackson has ever thrown in a game.

16 points was the 2nd lowest total for the Ravens this season.

They won't get any of the credit they earned.

Lamar Jackson's struggles won't be a national story.

The Browns defense deserves better.

1) whom thought over 80 covid players would miss games last season?

2) whom thought OBJ would go full blown team* ass-hat? 🎩

3) games missed due to injuries/covid 2021... Should we tell Kevin his team might lead the NFL?

End !  Rant !

Happy Tuesday !

I've found a positive -- at least we haven't mortgaged too much of next year's cap or draft picks on FA's who aren't going to be with us next year!

Conklin will be on our books next season - only save 6 of his 15M by cutting him for injury.  Note 2023 and 2024 are both void years for Conklin - 6M dead in 2023, 3M in 2024.

Clowney is due 3.6 / Malik Jackson is due 1.9 but those two won't go "on the books" for 2022 until they sign elsewhere.  Hooper is due 13.25 but we save 9.5 [3.75 dead] if he's cut after 6/1.

Other than those three we have 180k dead money to Redwine.

No 2022 draft picks given away yet - we have an extra 4th rounder from the Lions.

The whole point of the screen pass is to bait the pressure upfield and get the dancing bears away from the second level.  Pressure directly in his face with no resistance would be no good but I think the blocking on that play was fine.

Baker just had a Charlie Brown moment
