Biden’s (Trump’s) Plan to Cap Insulin Prices

Recommended Posts

As a diabetic that must go to Canada for my diabetic meds, the news of the day seems to be buzzing about Eli Lilly capping the price of insulin at $35 a month.

To put things into perspective, my new health insurance won’t cover my scripts for Januvia & Jardiance (they want $4000 a month out of pocket).

So I have turned to ordering from Canada to the tune of $200 a month for the same meds.

I remember when Trump was President, he mentioned something about working on insulin prices but naturally Congress was too concerned with impeaching his ass.

Which prompted me to search for whatever happened to his efforts to curb insulin prices.

It seems as though Dementia Joe squashed that idea, because it would benefit a bunch of people and also it wasn’t his idea.

Funny whenever you look into the rear view mirror, the good things Trump tried to do as Prez just didn’t get the airtime as the geriatric patient sucking up air in the Oval Office.

Just another reason to hate on the MSM.

Yep, signing 30-some executive orders like 2 or 3 days into his (Biden) presidency with no explanation whatsoever.

I know this political forum generally leans right. So just my opinion, if the Rs can't win the Whitehouse back in 2024, they have a huge internal problem.

This current administration is a total disaster and needs to be ousted.

There is a dark side to everything regardless of which party proposes it.I'm thinking of the clamor to cap the price of chemotherapy. Keep in mind that those drugs change probably on less than a year's notice notice. So by making today's version free and getting rid of the research and development for the next bigger and better version Is a problem waiting to happen.

Probably the same thing with insulin. Again we're talking about a free lunch.

You’re correct, this forum definitely leans right, and I think most of us when we were younger leaned left.

As Father Time creeps up on us, I believe most of us begin to drift to the right.

With that said, I was furious that during the Trump Administration the ONLY thing the Dems were focused on was making Trump’s 4 years in office a living hell. They essentially did nothing but try to impeach the man. They were elected to get a job done, not spend every waking moment trying to get rid of him. I would be just as angry if the GOP in Congress spend every minute trying to impeach Biden. That’s not what they’re supposed to be doing.

I also agree with you that the division inside the GOP will be a detriment to their efforts in 2024, they need to get their shit together.

True, the first part. But I've always been conservative. My Dad grew up on 400 acres in the mountains - they never suffered from the depression - they worked hard to have everything they needed. Milk, gardens, maple syrup they made themselves, meat, etc. Self-sufficiency best you can, has never been a part of the left's beliefs.  But Dad and them (9 brothers) - they knew there was a depression because once here and there, a family would stop in, and ask questions, offer to help work for some water and food to be on their way - Dad and his family always helped them. That is Real America.

The left latched on to dependency under the guise of helping those who can't help themselves. But LBJ's "Great Society" reeked - it became a huge subculture for poor families to have their kids get pregnant with no husband to quality for that aid to live on. And so many of those kids grew up on the streets. The left gets worse and worse, seemingly every few years, but with obaMao and biden, it's gone way, way too dominant. More dependency/free stuff gets more and more votes. The left has gone way overboard and crazy with entitlements, free stuff, and free theft, and whatall. Gets a lot of votes. Until most of the voters see it and say "NO MORE" and vote corrupt sludges like beetlejuice woman out of Chicago office.

Younger people tend to think emotionally rather than critically though, leading to pie in the sky sentiments, until they learn the history of those pie in the sky ideas. The big trouble is, they don't learn history. Young people see life via their emotions. If they knew history, that would stop a good bit. How they FEEL is all the rage as a subculture.

I was an avid reader as a kid, as much as I spent a lot of time outdoors with my family camping and fishing. "Bombs over Tokyo"....the history of WWII, American history, (and books like Sherlock Holmes mysterys/Hardy Boys mysteries - "Hound of the Baskervilles" and "Cabin Island" were two of my favorites.

Anyways, I never got into seeing the world through my emotions - emotional reactions can often betray you. Some folks learn that way too late. I guess I just always knew it to a good degree.

I used to be a bleeding heart lib.. Killary and Barry ruined that for me.. My father to a fault was a total socialist.. While I still like some social policies for the less fortunate... Im not against capitalism and wealthy individuals... I am a type 2 diabetic... Not on Insulin.. But I take Oral meds and one shot of Ozempic a week... I'm quite disturbed that the Hollywood  Elite is hoarding up all the Ozempic supplies because these lazy bitches are too lazy to exercise like normal people... Theres a base ingredient in the product known as semaglutide... It is also the main ingredient for Rybelsus That causes at least 12 lbs of weight loss through use... The stuff has kept me from blowing up... My doctor is trying hard to keep me off insulin... Because he's afraid I may blow up... And put undue stress on my heart...
