THE BROWNS BOARD

What do the stats tell us for the Browns @ Chiefs game?

The stats tell us that:  DTR outplayed Mond again.

That Austin Watkins disappeared in this game.  But the kick returner Grant, once again got broken in the preseason and is gone...(get well)...which may have saved Watkins a roster spot.

We couldn't run the ball.  And we fumbled it away again...and again.  Felton was ineffective carrying the ball.  Will we sign a RB after cuts?

The D gave up a lot of yards.  They couldn't get off the field on some 3rd and longs.  but they caught the ball pretty well and ran with it nicely.

...and York again was....York.

Watson and Chubb have not exchanged a handoff in a game yet this season.  Hopefully they can do it better than Watson and Wilkins today.

Two questions, did Jerome Ford play at all during the pre-season? I don't recall seeing him at all. And does anyone have an update on Jakeem Grant?

Ford got injured 2 weeks ago, and was still inactive yesterday.

Ford got thru camp in Greenbriar.. On Day 11, 1st day back in Cleveland Ford limped off on 8-8-23..

Jakeem Grant per Rapsheet has a serious Patella injury. Grant has a MRI today to see if patella is tore.. not looking good that Grant plays this season.

Grants unfortunate turn could be Watkins blessing.. I''m hoping they finally close the door on Schwartz and realize he just simply blows...

Nope.  He's been hurt with the hamstring.  I'm not sure what's going to happen with the #3 RB spot.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots are sending running back Pierre Strong Jr. to the Browns for offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr.

Grant was in an aircast…he’s done.

we need a #2 back.

The Cleveland Browns are set to get some speed back on the field as they work through their final 53-man roster cutdowns. In his press availability today, head coach Kevin Stefanski told the media that deep threat wideout Marquise Goodwin is set to return, cleared from the non-football injury list.

Goodwin, of course, was placed on the NFI list after he had trouble breathing due to blood clots in his lungs as a symptom of his sickle cell disease. The return of Goodwin, however, may muddy the waters for preseason standout Austin Watkins Jr.

Or David Bell?
