mjp28
~ 🏈 Should the Cleveland BROWNS unlock a few more jersey numbers. .... and put up a few more ? 🏈 Why not a fee of the best of the absolute best .... of the best ! ○--◇--○ Should these Browns Pro Football Hall of Famers have their jersey numbers retired? Published: Aug. 01, 2017, 11:30 a.m. ▪︎ By -Scott Patsko, cleveland.com ○---◇---○ Browns Hall of Fame jersey numbers CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns have retired five jersey numbers. Two of those – Ernie Davis (45) and Don Fleming (46) – were in memoriam. The other three – Otto Graham (14), Jim Brown (32) and Lou Groza (76) – were in recognition of great careers. But with 16 Browns in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (15 players and Paul Brown), it’s inevitable that you’ll see a current player wearing a uniform made famous by a legend. ▪︎--> The Bears have retired 14 numbers, the 49ers 12 and the Chiefs 11. A team could retire 46 numbers and still have enough for a 53-man roster, although it would be tricky to avoid running out of enough numbers for some position groups. ▪︎--> The point is, the Browns could take some more numbers out of rotation and be just fine. (Maybe a few good ones ?) ▪︎ So, in a week when the Pro Football Hall of Fame will induct its Class of 2017, let’s take a look at ▪︎ 13 ▪︎ Browns Hall of Famers who still have their jersey numbers being worn, and which players are wearing them today. And at the end of this, you can choose which Hall of Famer is most worthy of having his number retired. ~ And below see the ledgendary # 76 Lou ("the toe") Groza. Oh yes ! ▪︎ (Plain Dealer photo)

I looked at the photo and thought "Well that makes sense that Woody would be at Cleveland Stadium when the Browns honored Groza, since Lou (briefly) went to Ohio State before joining the Marines... then I thought more, and that didn't quite make sense either, I mean Woody IS Ohio State football, but he wasn't Groza's head coach. Then it dawned on me who probably was, and there wasn't a chance in hell THAT guy was going to be a guest of Art Modell... 🤣
