Now, consider the Browns tackles that they drafted for themselves:

We know about Joe Thomas, outstanding left tackle, first round.

the Yahoo depth chart doesn't even list a backup for him.

That's it.

St. Clair, the RT, was a 2000 3rd round pick by the Rams.

All three other offenses are rolling... bookend tackles make the offense secure on the "borders", make

the versatile play calling possible, protects the qb, can run plays either direction........

but the Browns can't.

No wonder we pull Thomas or Steinback to the right every so often, eh?

That's the Steelers, stupidstinkin ratbirds, and Bengals own draft pick offensive tackles.

Then look at the Browns offensive tackles they drafted.

We pay too much attention to the qb's. We need to have drafted at least ONE right offensive tackle that fits.

I agree completely it would open the running game up and force defenses to spread more often in playaction situations but it still isnt the end all of our problems at WR and the lack of quality WRs with a competitive spirit and the will to find a way....;)

It starts with the offensive line. If you can't run the ball you become one dimentional and easy prey. Any QB and I mean any QB would flounder without a running game or decent pass protection.

Offense is about execution and you can't execute without an offensive line. People hear can blame Daball for the play calling all they want but if you don't have an offensive line, you can't run and don't have time to let WRs develop their routes downfield.

So, please give me a break about the play calling and recognize where the problem really is............O-Line.

You need a hole to run through and you need protection to develop a effecient pass game.

You hit the nail on the head Calfox.................................

The reason Cleveland has been a QB graveyard isn't because the QBs sucked (as our fans knee jerk reactions indicate), it's because this team hasn't had a solid dominate offensive line, especially tackles since they came back in 1999.
