Chicopee John
Report October 14, 2009 As I found out with a Google search, the top songs about money list has been done many times before...but there's nothing saying I can't do it better! I've made a playlist of the Top 10 for your enjoyment here (signup to imeem is free)...unfortunately, I had to use a cover version of #1. Without further ado: 10) Take the Money and Run – Steve Miller Band 9) Money For Nothing – Dire Straits 8) If You’ve got the money, I’ve got the time – Willie Nelson All three are vying for the official song of Wall Street...my favorite unintentionally appropriate line about high finance from Steve Miller: "He makes his livin off of the peoples taxes" 7) Fortunate Son – Creedence Clearwater Revival So angry. So awesome. 6) Opportunities (Let’s Make Lot’s of Money) – Pet Shop Boys Was #1 on the charts in March 2009. 5) Can’t Buy Me Love – The Beatles 4) Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems – Notorious B.I.G. If this recession has taught us anything, money ain't THAT important. 3) Sell Out – Reel Big Fish That said... 2) If I Had a Million Dollars – Barenaked Ladies Contrarians love green dresses. 1) Money Talks – AC/DC It's like a love song to the advantages of money. B-Sides (Songs that didn't make the cut, but maybe should have) Money, Money, Money – ABBA She Works Hard for the Money – Donna Summer I Wanna Be Rich – CallowayMoney – Pink Floyd Ride Wit Me – Nelly (Hey, must be the money!) All About the Benjamins – P Diddy Life’s Been Good - Joe Walsh About 20 other songs from AC/DC (Back in Black, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, etc.) What have I missed? - DJ A...aka Anand Chokkavelu...aka TMFBomb

Pumpkin Eater
Time Money Speak To Me/ Breathe Brain Damage/Eclipse Shine On You Crazy Diamond, all parts Welcome to the Machine The Happiest Days of Our Lives/ Another Brick in the Wall II Empty Spaces/ Young Lust Hey You Run Like Hell Learning to Fly High Hopes let's not forget that Dark Side of the Moon was on the Billboard Top 200 Charts for 14 YEARS straight. Also it's not quite fair to Pink Floyd to look at them from a song-by-song perspective. Almost every one of their albums was based on a concept. ballpeen
As a country music fan, I don't know many people, country music fans or not who don't tap their foot a bit and don't know a verse or two to "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. hoorta
echoes is one of the dumbest songs i have ever heard (aside from "there coming to take me away, ha ha). it is a 10 minute long instrumental with 3 minutes of lyrics. i respect your opinion, but i have always thought that pink floyd was overrated: not as much as the stones or doors, but still overrated. Well. I'm a little bit biased as a huge Floyd fan, but regarding "Echoes" either you get it, or you don't. Beethoven's 5th is a 20 minute long instrumental, get the connection now? Echoes is the first electronic symphony. I can recognize Richard Wright's electronic "beep" on the first note as well as Ludwig's famous Da-da-da-dah........ PS not putting the Floyd's "Money" or "Have a Cigar" on that list is about criminal, or damn ignorant. "We're just knocked out, we heard about the sell out you gotta get an album out we're so happy we can hardly count"
