peter the peter head king makes some valid points but he is reaching on some of his analisis of what has happened or taken place in berea.

Read the Don Banks article....

You still want this creep coaching the Browns? Just threw his pal under the bus to save his job.

Randy, do your job now and fire Mangini Tuesday morning after the Browns get embarrassed on MNF.

What Kokinis got caught in was thinking because he and Mangini liked each other, they could work together. They never talked through the issues they were going to face as a team and how they would be handled. What a shame.

"A league source said Kokinis has retained a "high-profile" attorney with experience arguing against the NFL to represent him in the event the Browns continue to contest his contract. "I think George is going to kick ass, and the Browns will end up caving in,'' a league source said. "I don't think they have a leg to stand on.''

Gotta love these neutral "league sources". How does someone "around the league" know what the Browns might have learned?

Wow, and this didn't come from Mike Lombardi or anybody with an ax to grind.

Thank God Al Davis is still alive or the Browns would be THE laughing stock of the NFL.

Sounds like Mangini is toast.

Another bad hiring decision.

I don't understand this statement. Randy is the owner. He doesn't have a job concerning the Browns. He hires people to do jobs for him.

Why do we keep making statements as though Randy wasn't earning his pay?

Unnamed "league sources" that are the source of this information may, in fact, be people with an axe to grind. From some of the comments, it certainly sounds like this information came from a source close to Kokinis. Who else talks about Kokinis and his attorney "kicking butt" other than someone with an emotional stake in this?? So, we're probably hearing Kokinis's side of the story through someone identified as a "league source". You think if Kokinis did something wrong he's sharing it freely?

Here's an interesting quote from Peter King's last story on Mangini and the Browns:

"Because of the startup nature of the program, Kokinis said he's been spending time in and around the team this fall, instead of concentrating his efforts on on-campus scouting. He said he'd do that after the college season."

Isn't that a strange comment from someone who was supposedly alienated from making any decisions within the building? Why wouldn't he want to contribute to the organization by accelerating his scouting efforts when we have a franchise-defining draft coming up? Because he doesn't have final say on roster decisions means he shouldn't do on-campus scouting at all?? That would seem like a way to carve out his role in a way that's more important than anything he could do from within the building. Pioli didn't have final roster authority either. So instead he retreated into a building where he was powerless??

Two sides to every story. We're hearing only one.

Yes I found this rather contradictory "The draft is the equalizer in the NFL,'' said Kokinis. "We've got to make those [2010] picks work.''

Because of the startup nature of the program, Kokinis said he's been spending time in and around the team this fall, instead of concentrating his efforts on on-campus scouting.

Is it me or should this guy have been hitting the scouting scene hard, in this as you say "franchise defining draft" ?

No, it's not just you.

Was he really so marginalized that his scouting efforts would be ignored? That seems pretty hard to believe.
