DAWGPOUND16
Is history repeating itself? Just like the threat that loomed over the December 4th Browns VS. Charges game, this Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders could be blacked out. The game is not sold out and team officials tell 19 Action News that thousands of tickets remain unsold. If they do not sell out the game WILL be blacked out and fans will NOT be able to watch the game on TV locally. You may recall last time, 19 Action News stepped in, bought the remaining tickets and saved the day. http://www.woio.com/Global/story.asp?S=11719232
Speedyd900rr
They bought them cause there still going to make more money on the commericals then they would not buying the tickets and playing a few repeat tv shows. Im pretty sure if they were going to lose money they wouldn't even think twice about a black out.

Speedyd900rr
They should of waited a little longer to tell everyone that DA is going to be the QB. Everyone that already has tickets are more then likely sticking them on Craigslist and Ebay as we speak.

Giliodo09
You think he will still be on the board around the pick 18 mark?? Could be an option, 195cm is nothing to scoff at if the skills and work ethic are there. Worth a look.
ATENEARS
To tell ya the truth, as a season ticket holder, I hope it is blacked-out. Kind of adds value to owning tickets. I'll see the game and hopefully there won't be as many commercial breaks.

At some point the local stations find it a sound business move to buy some tickets to then donate for a tax write-off, and is a good PR move, as well as maintain the advertising slots they have sold but stand to lose if the game isn't aired. TheClevelandSound
http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/...eive_48-ho.html BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns still have a chance to avert their first local television blackout since the 1995 season. The club was granted an extension to sell remaining tickets so that Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders would be shown locally. The NFL gave the Browns a 48-hour extension -- twice the norm because of the holiday crunch. That means they have up until Saturday at 1 p.m. to sell the tickets, or the game will be blacked out within a 75-mile radius. A club spokesman would not characterize the number of tickets needed to sell. If the blackout is lifted, the game will be shown on WOIO Channel 19. Gips
Lerner and WOIO will most likely to pick up the slack to avoid a blackout.. Lets just hope the new regime will at least have a real gameplan next year that looks promising and gives the fans hope and a glimpse into the future ,and in return we will fill the stadium to see it all unfold..smart coaching ,a feasible plan and good football will keep the fans coming back win or lose.. TheClevelandSound
look like the Bengals are having trouble selling out as well and have asked for an extrention via nfl.com It must be the weather, not the state of both franchises. Which is surprising.
VaporTrail
It's not the weather, it's the fact that the Bengals have the worst fanbase in the NFL. And for us, it's the fact that we've been putting out a losing product for 10 years, and our fanbase is sick of watching a loser.

The Browns will distribute the tickets to local civic organizations, such as the USO. Because of the Christmas holiday, the Browns received a 48-hour extension until 1 p.m. Saturday to avoid the blackout. The Browns and their television partners joined forces to avoid blackouts for the Nov. 16 game against the Ravens and the Dec. 6 game against the Chargers. The last time the Browns were blacked out was the final game of the 1995 season, before the team moved to Baltimore. The Browns also have seats remaining for the season finale Jan. 3 against the Jaguars. Tickets for Sunday's game can be purchased through one of the following methods: 1. www.ticketmaster.com 2.
