DestinFunk
Dont get me wrong...I have dug Mangini since day one...but im torn...as has been pointed out if Holmgren is torn at all he should make this move quickly..as another off season building for Manginis style sets us back further...obviously. 3-4 non WCO...etc. A few names that have popped up are Mike Sherman..which did nothing for me until i dug a little deeper...Geez!..Looked at this dudes record in green bay..and he even ran the Gm duties for a couple of years with solid drafts..all listed on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Sherman Leslie Frazier minnesota AHC/DC interests me quite a bit he nearly got a gig last year and most likely will get one this year..he is noted for creating sme of the best RUN STUFFING d's....and with Holmgren being an all offense guy he needs strong D minds on staff...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Frazier and many have mentioned this name for awhile the minny OC Darrell Bevell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darrell_Bevell a big fav of Holmgren is also Marty Mornhinweg ..could a new form of marty ball take over cleveland?.. have my doubts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_Mornhinweg

Chicopee John
FWIW, Sherman was the first one I thought of. GB also has a pretty good Personnel Director / GM named John/Jack Dorsey. It would be nice if Holmgren could pry him from GB.

Gips
Sherman looks very intriguing and could be a likely name on holmgrens shortlist ,if they share a similar vision sherman could be capable of holding both the GM and or HC positions.. mopaji
Am I the only one who thinks that Holmgren will have very little to do with rosters and schemes? He is an office worker and isn't going to get his hands to dirty I assure you. Here's why..... 10 year deal. This is important for a few reasons. It shows that he wasn't hired to hurry up and fix anything. He was hired to give Lerner a 10 year vacation from football. So, he won't be in any hurry to fire a coach especially after one year. He has 10 years to do his friends some favors. If he were signing a 3 year deal then maybe Mangini would have to worry. But The Walrus has 10 years, no reason to rush into anything. Mangini has handled this team perfectly. Considering what he inherited with personel, cap space, and an overall loser mentality, he has done an excellent job. He has taken on the toughest but most important tasks when building a franchise. Attitude, Identity, and Culture. Not only has he succeeded, but he is one of the very few coaches who would have the balls to do it. That has got to count for something. And I'm sure it does. Holmgren isn't stupid. Players like Mangini They are starting to see what he has been preaching come to fruition. He now has a rag-tag group of role players fighting to the death. They have won 3 games in 3 different ways. Out-willed the Bills, Out-Scored the Chiefs, and Out-schemed the Steelers. That is a very clear indication that these players are listening to this coach and playing beyond their ability. Very similiar to the Patriots of a few years back, Every week they would have a different identity depending on the opponate and situation. Players were asked to be versatile and put the team first, and they did. Then, they were killing teams. Not only do you win more games that way but you build team chemistry that can almost never be broken. When you get 55 guys together on a football field that absolutely trust and understand eachother, you can beat anybody. That's what's happening here. No logical person would want to put a stop to that. I have to believe Holmgren is a logical person.
