That’s exactly how I see it. I only wish Garret had thrown the helmet in the stands and then punched Rudolph in the face after Rudolph charged him. I’m not sure how many of us here would not retaliate after having the same thing done to us by Rudolph. Does Garrett get less of a suspension if he punches Rudolph instead of hitting him with the helmet?

Think about how much differently this encounter would have been interpreted if Garret walked up to the Steelers huddle, ripped off Rudolph’s helmet without any provocation and hit him in the head with it. I understand Garrett can only control himself. I understand Garrett is going to face consequences. What I don’t understand is Rudolph not facing consequences.

Rudolph provoked him and prevailed by getting Garrett to react. And the Steelers love him for it.

Should Rudolph have attempted to rip Garrett’s helmet off? Or kick him in the balls? Or run after him after they were separated?

2X whatever Rudolph gets is what Garret should get

So a QB is allowed to attempt to rip a players helmet off because he didn’t like the way he was tackled, kick that player in the balls and then run after him after that player actually does rip his helmet off.... without suspension..... and the player he did this to gets the axe..... got it.

My thoughts on him exactly. You could get that by watching him on Mic’d Up this week. I’ll never forget the scene in the airport on hard knocks when they were coming in and everyone was slobbing over Bakers knob. He stood quietly while one guy came and asked “Are you a player? What’s your name?” “Nick.” Couldn’t believe people didn’t either know who he was or didn’t care. Always knew this kid was going to be a beast.
