  1. Not to be a prick, but Sam was replaced by Marty in 1984, but I see the comparisons.

If we  had a pass rush in the mid 80s we would have won a Super Bowl. We have a pass rush now (I think), but no Dixon/Minnifield/Felix Wright at CB/FS.

My whole take is the Browns need to survive the first 6 games at say 4-2, stay injury free and takeoff from there.

Since we have been having  discussion about Heaven and Hell....lets see if you can guess where some NFL teams/coaches etc. fall in terms of reaching Heaven or Hell.

    1. Since  WWII   5 teams have gone winless in an NFL season.   Name these 5 teams.

Lions, Browns, and Colts (strike shortened season, they had a tie 0-8-1) is all I can think of

    2. Prior to the Browns "inactive period"   what was the worst record the Browns ever suffered (with the understanding that they have had several worse seasons since 1999)?

    3-11

    3. What 2 Head coaches  have the worst all time record in history?

    Hue Jackson, Rich Kotite

    4. Name the only teams in Pro football history that went undefeated and untied...including playoffs.

    Browns, Dolphins

    5. Which 3 head coaches have the all time best winning percentages in their careers?

Paul Brown, Tom Flores, George Siefert

    6. Name the 2 Head coaches that have lost the most playoff games without ever having won one.

    Marvin Lewis,

    7. Four (4)  active head coaches have won 10 or more playoff games.   Name them.

Belichick, Sean Payton, John Gruden, Tomlin

    8. What active head coach has the best postseason won loss percentage?

    Belichick

    9. What team has the best all time W-L percentage including both regular and postseason?

    Cowboys

    10. What team has the worst all time W-L percentage including both regular and postseason?

    Cardinals

Bonus:  Two teams  are in NFL "Purgatory" in that in their entire histories including regular and postseason....they are each only one game off from being .500.

Name these two teams:   hint:  they do not include any of the post mid 1990s expansion teams. Dolphins and Chargers

Here are today's survey questions,   and I admit that I took some of these straight from the WKNR Rizzo show that is going on now, plus a couple of others. Give your answers.

    1. Brownie the Elf seems to be making a big comeback on Browns gear.   Do you like the elf?

    Yes, love the Elf.

    2. Cleveland Browns Stadium aka bankrupt first energy.....needs a new nickname.   What do you think would be a good new nickname for it...now that the Browns appear to be poised to become winners.

    3. Name someone you think has been an underrated as an all time athlete, i.e. someone who hasn't really gotten his due.  This can be from any sport from any era.

Amleto Monacelli, Mark Price, George Gervin come to mind.

    4.  What is your opinion about the so called "unwritten rules" in sports?  Things such as..celebrating a home run can get you beaned. Or running up the score. (The US women beat the Thailand women in soccer yesterday....by a score of 13-0...and are being accused of being unsportsmanlike for running up the score and celebrating after scoring some of the later goals)

The USA women went a little overboard, but the real question is how do you qualify for a World Cup and give up 13 goals?

    5. I leave Friday for 2 weeks in New England.  What are your summer travel plans, if any?

Chengdu, China and Guilin, Hong Kong in August.

Doing this survey on a Sunday for the first time.  Give your answer/opinions:

    1. Which of the Brown's new acquisitions...by trade/FA/Draft   will have the biggest impact on the team this coming year?

Takitaki. He'll swarm to the football.

    2. If you were not a Browns fan......if you are one, which other NFL team, if any would you be a fan of?

Bears or Cardinals, maybe Buccaneers if they bring back their original uniforms

    3. Have you either played  football above the high school level....or coached football at any level?

    nope

    4. Besides Tom Brady....with his good looks, his hot wife, his money, his fame...and not least of all, his incredible success......is there any  football player, past or present whose life you would want to emulate?

no, I'm content...but we could all like that money those guys make

    5. The current Jeopardy Champion was asked what he will be doing with some of the money he won, and he stated: My wife and family and I will be doing "Year of WOW".....and he explained that that will be where they will choose 12 cities over the world where they will spend a month each, just taking in everything about that city: the culture, atmosphere, attractions, food, etc. etc. So....if YOU were able to do the same for whatever the reason (like winning the lottery), which 12 cities would you choose to spend a month in for each? Anywhere in the world. WOW!!

That's tough, but Ill try......starting with the good old USA I'd go with:

    Kalispell, Montana

    Yosemite Valley, California

    Gallup, New Mexico

    Globe, Arizona

    area of Bar Harbor, Maine

    Jasper, Arkansas

    McCall, Idaho

    Marion, Virginia

    outside of the USA....

    Belfast, Ireland

    Bergen, Norway

    Zermatt, Switzerland

Guilin, China (heading there this summer)

txted a firefighter buddy of mine, said its not uncommon at all. They work weird schedules....usually 24 on and 48 or more off. And the business's that let them practice in their back lots....guess what day there's sure to be no one there? I'll give you 7 guesses.

I'm lost here....what does the FD have to do with this?

  7. A lot of good choices Bob. A couple of things;

I have been around Whitefish Bay and Keeweenaw Bay in the UP, but I don't know where Union Bay is.

I have not been to Long Beach NC, Kalispell, Dolly Sods, or the Capital in Montpelier. Since I am going to Vermont this summer I will try to pop in there.

You also get a big check mark from me on your choices of Acadia....I suspect the sunset/sunrise on Cadillac Mtn. would be awesome. Also on Dead Horse Pt, Mono Lake and Bryce and Arches.

I saw you were at Quoddy Head, and I've been there too its amazing (I think it's the most eastern point in the USA).

Union Bay is the name of a campground ( suppose the nearest city would be Ontonagon, MI). It's also funny to me that the best gnocchi I ever ate was in the U.P. Another cool spot in the U.P. is the ski jump at Copper Head- you can climb to the top and see just how high those ski jumpers take off from, it is amazing.

So many beautiful things to see in the USA, but not enough time or money I suppose to see it all (mega millions would cure that lol). I really want to see the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon/Washington someday, along with Big Bend National Park.

  8. Wow, somehow I missed this thread. My family loves to travel, camping in particular as we've been camping in 38 states.
