LOL, you do have a point there.  :)

I said "few" not "only".  :)

So,  we are one of "the Few".

My cousin was one of the real  "Few",    as in  "Never in the course of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so Few"

RAF  fighter pilot during Dunkirk and  The Battle of Britain.   He was portrayed by  Tom Hardy in Dunkirk.

    Here they are together:

So, Marino started his career in 1983. Drafted by the Dolphins in April. In 1983 January, the Dolphins were in Superbowl XV!!. Baker started with a non-playoff team. With crap coaching. Marino had Don Shula.  Baker had...well...you know. Dan Marino went to a superbowl team with a great legendary coach.

    So..................yes.😎

                                                                                          image.thumb.png.f9f38ae8b100debc5ba67ea358a16e99.png

    Miami Dolphins (2)
    (AFC)
    (7–2)
    Washington Redskins (1)
    (NFC)
    (8–1)
    17 27

As you note,  Marino's team went to the Super Bowl the season before they drafted him.   Baker's team went 0-16 the year before they drafted him.  Marino went to play for Don Shula, the winningest coach in NFL history.   Baker went to play for  Hue Jackson,  who has he worst losing record in NFL history........save one guy who was a team owner who didn't want to fire himself.

Is that the disparity you are talking about?

He's at best a WR2 even in TEN; if he had stayed in ATL he'd be WR3.  This seems.. not warranted. Sure, hype from the home team but they gave too many assets and are paying a crazy salary for a player who's on the down side.  OBJ even after rehabbing an achilles is far more explosive.. as we'd expect since he's 5 yrs younger.

You may be right,  but apparently the bettors,  or those who set the betting lines must think this is significant.

No word yet on the $515M powerball winning ticket in Pennsylvania.  Since they publish your name there some get a lawyer and set up a trust to protect yourself, smart move. And always sign the ticket in ink immediately in black ink and store it in a safe place. Tell nobody !

Meanwhile in Ohio and what NOT to do in Florida.........

Even after matching all six numbers, I was in disbelief and took my ticket to a retailer to have it checked,” Thomas Yi said. “The clerk at the counter instantly became excited and kept repeating that I had won the $235 million Powerball jackpot. I knew then that this would be life changing.”

The Akron Rd.  Speedway  is  only about a mile away from my house.

But it wasn't me who won.  DAMN!!

  5. Here are today's items:

    1. Based on what I am seeing, the Atlanta Hawks could actually win their series vs.  the 76ers.

    2.  Speaking of which,  the NBA Champion this year will be "Fresh Blood".    Of the teams that are left, the one that has won the most recent championship are those  76ers...who won it in 1983....which is  38 years ago...or like  2 generations ago.  All the the teams let in the West have never won a title:   Jazz,  Nuggets,  Clippers, Suns.  In the East, the Bucks last won in s1971,  Nets won an ABA title in the 70s.  Hawks have not won since 1958.

    3. The Indians losing a series to the terrible Orioles is just disgusting IMO.

    4. The Usual Suspects are at the Top of the Sporting News  Top 25 college football poll:   Alabama, Ohio St. Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia.

    5.  The Titans obtaining Julio Jones  raised their odds of winning the Super Bowl from  35-1 to now  30-1.   A big leap for the acquisition of a non-QB.

    6.  Impromptu  OTAs for the Browns are being hosted by  Baker Mayfield in Austin TX  at this time.

    7. What is more important:   the talent, or the  person coaching that talent.   The reason I ask is that the Browns are going to have a wholesale change on defense this year, but are going to have the same coach for that defense:  Joe Woods.   Is Woods going to be a better coach with better talent?  You would think so/hope so,  but I am not necessarily convinced.

    8.  I think Serena Williams may be done winning major tennis championships.  She was aufed yesterday in the French Open

Cricket is absolutely huge in Australia, the biggest sporting event in that country is the Ashes cricket series against England which takes place every few years

Like I said,  that is a surprise.   I knew that Rugby was big there,  and of course there is Australian football.    But cricket? Never knew.

And you would be wrong about A&M. Part of the reason for Finebaum's statement is that since joining the SEC, A&M has dominated Texas in in-state recruiting and it is even better since Fisher arrived. Yes, that also helped other SEC teams here as well.

    In 2021 recruiting A&M signed 9 or the top 14. Bama 3 OSU 1 Texas 1

Additionally A&M's out of state signings consisted of 10 of their top 20 signings for the same year, 10 in state 10 out of state. All the top programs do exactly the same thing. Fisher is not a dummy like some of our prior HCs who thought they could just stay in Texas/La. This out of state group comes from Fla (2), Philly (2), NY, Utah, Colo. Ark and one each from La & Okl.

I don’t watch the NBA.  I was up at midnight and looked at my phone and saw the score of the game

The NBA is unwatchable. The NHL is so much of a better product. Especially in person.

Sure the Cavs have sucked, when they didn’t have the best player, in the league,  for the past 15 years, but that’s not for a lack of Gilbert’s business acumen.

No one cares about your opinion here. Again if you don’t like it don’t watch it.

I had to ask my wife on this one to be sure her grandmother on her mother's side used to make a meatloaf and fry them up and called them an "old fashioned hamburgers" she said that they were really good.   I'm not sure on the pita but the tomato 🍅 would be a good touch.  Do not remember the name Donair.

My grandmother used to make her "steakburger"  which was a really good burger and among other things her secret ingredient was Worcester Sauce.  I was young then. Also I never saw her use a recipe card she was the best !   Memories.

It is a dish that is apparently endemic to Halifax

Very surprised that Countries like Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran that Wrestling isn’t the most popular.

I guess I can only say that I am not sure how wholly accurate this is. It looks like they have Mongolia as the only nation where wrestling is the most popular sport.   Basketball being the most popular sport in The Phillipines is somewhat surprising,  but not so that it is the most popular in Lithuania. Also not surprised that basketball would be the most popular sport in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Kansas....but I question the accuracy of that when it comes to Arizona and California.

They have Austria as the only country in which skiing is the most popular sport.  I would have thought that skiing would also be most popular in like Switzerland and Norway.

And it looks like Ping Pong is most popular in China.  Thanks Forrest Gump.
