    1948 Cleveland Browns[edit]

The Browns were a member of the All-America Football Conference, a professional football league that played from 1946 to 1949. In 1948, the Browns won all fourteen regular season games and the 1948 AAFC championship to post a 15–0–0 record. Cleveland's perfect 1948 season was part of a longer string of 29 straight wins, which stretched from 1947 to 1949 and included both the 1947 and 1948 title games. Overall, the Browns won all four AAFC championship games and were accepted into the NFL when the two leagues merged after the 1949 season.

I'll have to see what our British contingent is thinking..  MHO is any of the first three home games- the home opener against the Titans will be the toughest ticket to get..  Some of the Florida folks don't like cold weather.  :)  Regarding Denver- our Tailgate lot under the bridge can possibly have safety issues after dark (cars have been broken into). But for out of town folks the possibility of catching two home games Cardinals\Broncos in the space of five days may be interesting.

Howie has already expressed an unlikelihood of coming over this year, for various reasons  (health and finances) , though he left  a slight possibility.  Only probably a  10% chance of making it.

Well then they should tell that to half of the employees at Meyer Snow Products where I used to work... The plant Manager, The Union President , And the plant Foreman were always drunk and stoned by 9 am every morning putting everyone's life in jeopardy... The hypocrasy is amazing... Especially since I incurred a back injury due to some idiots ignorance but got off on the fact my piss wound up dirty.. But here's the kicker.. I never drank or got high on the job like these assholes do.. I always kept my business at home. I had to do 12 weeks of Drug rehab which was a total farce.. meanwhile the plant Foreman was tootin coke all day long...

Well, OK, so, you had fucking idiots as an employer.    Of course, that was somewhat implicit in the fact that they let you work there in the first place!!🤣😜🤢

Now that the precedent has been set, I'm an employer and will immediately require anyone working for me to take my non FDA approved injection that reverses anyone afflicted with dumbassism, and prevents it in those yet inflicted.

I will not be held responsible if it gives them cancer in 3 years or makes them grow a flipper either..... Fuck! This is gonna be sweet!

If only something like that actually existed.

    That's unconstitutional... Typical Lib bullshit!

No.  It isn't.  There is absolutely no governmental action involved in an employer requiring certain things as a condition of employment, particularly for health and safety reasons.   Like requiring a drug test, or any number of other impositions employer's make on their employees as a condition of employment.  Hell, when I worked in a grocery store while in college,  I could not sport facial hair.

This. You gotta toss the guy on ignore. I haven’t been in a argument of any kind here where the tone is negative since I put him on “the list”. Honestly anyone that doesn’t enjoy arguing with a revolving door equipped with a obnoxious argumentative sound board should do the same. You can actually talk football. I should have listened waaaaaayyyyyy sooner. 😬

Vagitron  is a liar.  He cannot actually talk football, at all.  He can only tell lies about the Steelers,   and when he is called on his lies, he can't handle it.

He really cannot talk football otherwise either because:.....he lies about being able to ignore me.   If you were to look at, say  every post he has ever put on here since he supposedly put me on ignore.....over  50% of them have been about ME.

So, needless to say, I certainly don't feel ignored by him.

I don't think the billionaire would have to be from the city the team eventually locates.

It didn't work in Seattle before.  Why now?

Las Vegas is a hot spot.  That seem logical.  I say Nashville.  They could easily support a NBA team.  Nashville is a hot spot as well.

Seattle's problem in the past was that the new owner that bought that franchise  was NOT from Seattle, but was from Oklahoma, and was looking for any excuse to move the team to his home state....and he used the excuse of them having an outdated arena to move them.   I don't think he ever gave Seattle a chance to build or renovate what they had.

I personally think it is better to have a home town person  own the team.  We have had our issues with  Haslam.....very partially because he is not home grown, but actually because he just had done a piss poor job of selecting  GMs and HCs.  Hopefully, it seems, he has corrected that issue.  Of course, Dan Gilbert is not from Cleveland either.

Maybe Haslam...the Tennessee boy,  could be the owner of a Nashville  NBA franchise.  I suspect he still has a load of money left from his sale of Pilot/Flying J to  Warren Buffet.

I care, and I’m sure our European Browns Backers care

Do they?  Not so sure.  Why do you think they turned to real football.

My cousin  from England doesn't care so much.  In fact, he calls soccer players a "bunch of preening pansies"....direct quote from him.  He is a Rugby man.

    Let's put it this way:

I am fine that  Columbus's team won the MLS.  As good a choice as any of a team to win that, seeing that it is the closest team to us here in NEO.  But not as good as having a team ourselves. And OK,  the owner of the Browns also owns that team.  Hopefully it portends something for the future of the Browns.

And I care about our national teams on the international stage.  I personally would prefer our team's win an Olympic Gold Medal over  the World Cup.  That is my personal opinion, and if you don't like it, I have a pair of testicles you can lick.  Of course, our men never do anything,  but our women kick ass at either event.

Cardinals - Dierdorf over NightTrain Lane

Falcons - Can you really pick anyone other than Deion Sanders? Tuggle at LB perhaps.

I think you can easily, because  Deion played only a small portion of his career with  Atlanta.  He played as much with Dallas as with the Falcons.

Panthers - LB Kuechly over WR Steve Smith

I have perfect knowledge of it.  You are the ignorant one here.  You don't have a fucking clue about what is being said out there.

How much of this do you read?  How much of it do you watch on the TV sports talk shows.  How much of it do you listen to on sports talk radio.  Fuck all, that's what.

You just want to defend Belichick here because you are a Belichick ass kisser.  But for several years now  BB has been trying to purge Brady.  Robert Kraft had to step in and prevent him from doing so.   What do you think? That I am making this shit up? Duh, no.

  12. Who was the Greatest Player in the History of each NFL franchise?   Candidates:

Cardinals (AZ/St.L/Chicago)    Larry Fitzgerald  or  Charley Trippi?

Atlanta Falcons:   I think you have to look at Matt Ryan,   or Claude Humphrey

Baltimore Ravens.    Its gotta be Ray Lewis,    with Jonathan Ogden and Ed Reed coming in behind

Buffalo Bills.    A hard one:  QB Jim Kelly?   DE Bruce Smith.....and no matter what you have to include  OJ Simpson as a candidate.

Carolina Panthers:    I think you have to pick Cam Newton......though WR  Steve Smith  comes in a close second

Chicago Bears.   One of the hardest to choose.   Sid Luckman who QBd them to  4 championships?  Walter Payton?  But this is a franchise known for defense, especially  middle Linebacks:  Bill George/Butkus/Singletary/Urlacher.    Who?

    Cincinnati Bengals.   Anthony Munoz

Cleveland Browns    Jim Brown is the obvious choice........but should he take preference over  7 time champion QB Otto Graham?

Dallas Cowboys.  Another tough one.   All Time rushing leader  Emmit Smith?  Or a defensive stalwart like Bob Lilly?    I go for Roger Staubach

    Denver Broncos.   Easy:   Elway

Detroit Lions.    Gotta go with Barry Sanders

Green Bay Packers.  Tough choice.   You have HOF QBs   Starr/Favre/Rodgers eventually.  There is also Forrest Gregg and Ray Nitschke...and others

Houston Texans.  Two top candidates:   Andre Johnson/JJ Watt.     If Watson were to stay, he could be it eventually,  but not today, and maybe never if he leaves.

Indianapolis/Baltimore Colts:   Two horse race really:    Manning/Unitas.......Unitas/Manning?   My tendency to think old school says Unitas....but that is not in stone.

Jacksonville Jaguars.  Hard because they have not had a true outstanding guy.   Would it be  Boselli? Jimmy Smith?  Fred Taylor.  Supposedly, eventually it will be Trevor

Kansas City Chiefs.   Hard to think that Mahomes won't take this.....eventually....but not now perhaps?   You have Len Dawson,  Tony Gonzales, Derrick Thomas

Las Vegas Raiders.  As much glamor as they may come in for from offensive skill and defensive players.....their best may be a trio of road graders:   Gene Upshaw/Art Shell/Jim Otto

LA Chargers.    A couple of QB  I think compete here:   Fouts vs. Rivers?    Or neither, and go with Junior Seau?

LA Rams.   Defensive Linemen are this team's forte:   Is it  Merlin Olsen?  Deacon Jones?  Or does Aaron Donald take the cake?

Miami Dolphins.  Another easy peasy:   Dan Marino

Minnesota Vikings.   Another toughie:   the QB?  Tarkenton.....or one of the DL:   Alan Page or Carl Eller?

New England Patriots.   Tom Brady.     obviously a no brainer

New Orleans Saints:   Drew Brees.      ditto

New York Giants:   gotta be Lawrence Taylor

    New York Jets:   Joe Namath.

Philadelphia Eagles.    despite playing some years for other teams.....Reggie White  IMO tops this team's list

Pittsburgh Steelers?   Who would Steeler fans say?  BR over Bradshaw?  Or Mean Joe Greene or Jack Lambert....or Mike Webster?

San Francisco 49ers.     I want to say  Joe Montana.......but would Jerry Rice be the better answer?

Seattle Seahawks.   Russell Wilson   I think can be considered a no brainer here.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Brady may be the popular choice after a single year.....but this team has been a defensive team:  So either  Derrick Brooks/Warren Sapp/Leroy Selmon are the choices.

Tennessee Titans/Houston Oilers.   Best player has been  Bruce Matthews.

Washington  R-words:   I think its a DB:  Darrell Green

Who would you choose for some of these?

I think whatever evidence there is besides the evidence in your head is that Brady wanted a contract extension and Belichick preferred One year at a time.

Baker Mayfield wasn't offered a multi year extension either and that doesn't means Stefansky things hes washed up.

    WSS

Well,  here like my Dr. Oz situation, is clearly a case of where you have not paid attention to what has been said about this situation.  If BB wanted just one year at a time...it was because, as I said, he was concerned that TB was too long in the tooth and did not want to commit to him for any longer than that.  And I suppose you think that  John Lynch just made up the fact that  BB offered him Brady instead of the Garropolo? Maybe you should take that up with John Lynch.

There is absolutely no reason for anybody to think that.

Actually there has been plenty of speculation and plenty of evidence about just THAT based on indices that were given off...including the fact that  BB  was wanting to groom Jimmy Garropolo to replace Brady some years earlier. In essence,  BB was forced to go along with the trade that sent JG to SFO.  In fact, apparently  BB wanted to actually trade  Brady to SFO and not  Garrapolo  (per John Lynch...49ers GM).  Robert Kraft would have none of that.  Just like when he thought  Bernie Kosar was done, BB thought that Brady may have been done and was looking to replace him. Its a main reason  Brady moved out of there when he did.

  16. Toronto...all the way around.   They lead first round  vs.  Montreal  3-1

Tampa Bay  wins series vs. Florida Panthers   (isn't Tampa also in Florida?)

New York Islanders knock off Pittspuke in first round...yay.

    Winnipeg knocked off Edmonton.

    Boston beat  Washington

    Colorado beat St. Louis.

    Carolina leads Nashville

    Las Vegas leads  Minnesota
