  1. How is everyone FEELING about this game today? The last 2-3 games I had a pretty good feel for, but I don't have a handle on this one at ALL. It's almost like very few outcomes would surprise me, ya know? I could see a tight ass game where it comes down to a kick with the backup kicker, I could visualize a game where Stroud absolutely lights us up and we're playing catchup all day, and I can just as easy come up with a scenario where we get them in a bind and win handily. What I don't like: It's a road playoff game and our team has not been lights out on the road, especially the defensive side of things. We play MUCH better at home, which is true of many teams, but it's especially evident in our efforts this season. Texans have their starting DL today. Greenard got hurt almost immediately last time, and Rankins is also playing. They're healthy up front and that's going to change just about everything in terms of time throw, potential fumbles (Flacco has 4), and forcing the ball into dangerous windows resulting in INT's. Texans don't give up rushing yards. I don't remember the stat, but they haven't given up a 100 yard rusher in just about forever. If you have Flacco pass the ball 50 times with a high percentage of 3rd and longs, it's asking for trouble. CAN he deliver? Absolutely, but getting SOME ground game going will be essential to keeping Texans off guard and having more manageable down and distance. Stroud. I won't lie, he terrifies me. Why? So glad you asked! He does NOT turn it over. My dude has 5 INT's on the season, which is borderline stupid because he drives the ball down the field and he takes calculated risks. Having about a 5-1 touchdown to INT ratio is bonkers, for anyone, let alone a rookie. Stroud isn't a burner, but he's plenty quick and he looks to strike down the field. When you watch our games, you see opponents running wide open down the field, but the pressure prevents qb's from finding them. Don't be surprised if Stroud connects on a couple deep scores. What I LIKE. Enough of the doom and gloom and giving respect. What wares do WE have that causes THEM problems? Amari Cooper. We know about his record setting day, and while I don't expect THAT, I do see him being highly effective. He's just so talented. Njoku. I expect 8-10 catches for big yards and at least one td. We need his hands to stay soft and those TE screens to pop. We've been very close to busting one. Joe Flacco. Flacco is tied for the league most wildcard victories AND road playoff wins. He's hot and he's feeling it. He stays away from the flukey picks and fumbles, and we'll win. Myles Garrett. Now, traditionally Tunsil gives Myles fits. Schwartz will move him all over the field to get an advantage, but I need a superhuman effort from Garrett today. Not only that, but a game-changing play. Strip sack, INT, whatever. We need our freak to be freaky. Lastly, Stroud struggled the most against man coverage and pressure, the Browns identity. We play our style, and we should be able to frustrate them. Sorry for the ridiculous novel on things you all already knew, but it's helping to calm my nerves and take us closer to kickoff. Can't wait! No matter what, maybe my favorite season I can remember. Just don't want it to end!
  2. Yeesh, hope Denzel is OK. These practice injuries are just insane. This is going to be a war and we'll need everyone. Let's go, baby.
  3. I'm actually in Tallahassee, two hours west, but it's pretty chill here! I'm pretty devastated though, was really looking forward to traveling over there for our playoff game. *sigh*
  4. This looks exactly like I expected and I'm so totally fine with it. Gosh darn Jags are choking, naturally.
  5. Thanks, Flugel! On the bright side, it's a tough lesson to learn in the best of circumstances. Miraculously the fumbles didn't hurt us, and this allows us to learn from mistakes without the painful consequences. What REALLY hurt is that the Jets knew we had to run to waste clock and by fumbling multiple times it kind of hamstrung our coach with calling plays. Now, it worked OUT but what you'd love to see is the Browns' offense able to sustain a bit longer drives, even if we don't score, but getting just a couple first downs on the field. We blocked a FG and our defense made enough plays against an inept Jets' offense that we were never really threatened, but come playoff time, we'll need to run it with the confidence our backs won't fumble, ESPECIALLY if we get a lead into the second half. Let's hope we learned a valuable ball security lesson and we take that lesson into our wildcard playoff game. Man, how good does THAT sound? We literally don't have to worry this week and we can actually rest key players for the first time since a week 5 bye. Let's freaking go.
  6. Did you also see how dumb Mccarthy was? Passing it like 3 times when Lions had no timeouts?! That's the ONLY reason they had time to get down the field and score. It was like watching two morons out-moron each other. Crazy. And then possibly the worst referee gaffe in the history of the game? I saw the guy report. The camera has it. Why would an interior lineman report?!
  7. The realness of Flacco is absolutely refreshing and rare. He gives legit answers to so many questions, so of course the press adores him. The dude walks into the stadium wearing sweatpants and Jordans (I think, not a shoe guy), probably has $100 million in investments, and seems like one of us. Just a dude with 4-5 kids, a wife, and a gigantic right arm. The crazy thing about watching him play is how many difficult throws he connects on, and how many of THOSE are in stride. Remember how we were one of the worst teams in YAC last year and this year until Flacco? What do you think changed? I mean, Njoku is sprinting away from people, Ford getting some, Cooper bananas, and even a little bit for Moore. Our YAC has gone up significantly with Flacco and I'm convinced it's because of the accuracy.
  8. It's funny, as nerve-wracking as that entire 3rd quarter was, the net result was still a 17 point lead, and that was just too much to overcome in the 4th for the Jets. The game kind of reminded me of the Jags game, where our mistakes were basically the only reason it was as close as it was. The Njoku and Strong fumbles were SO disheartening, especially the Njoku one because we're moving the ball there, approaching red zone, and it felt to me like one more td would just end the game. And don't forget about the pick 6 and the overturned Ford fumble. Yeesh! But one thing our defense did was force clock on Jets' drives. That one drive where we blocked the FG took about 6 minutes off the clock and yielded no points. Huge! I couldn't be happier for the fans. The team gets a 10 day break and the fans get to celebrate a playoff clinching victory at home. The special season continues.
  9. We're literally not going to take a chance. I'm FINE with that, but you have to run all 3 downs. That incomplete pass on first cost 30 seconds. Stefanski is absolutely terrified of Flacco right now and both his RBs fumbled. There's not a lot of "safe" plays out there. It's time for defense.
  10. I'm still fixated on that last fumble, then Ford fumbling on a perfect hand-off before that. It feels weird right now, who is going to step up? Who will make the play? Finish the damn game, you guys deserve it.
  11. I'm not complaining about defensive stops, believe me I'm not...but can we get the rock NOT at the 9 yard line one time? 😂
  12. Exactly. We're in a tough spot of trying desperately not to turn it over while also trying to move the ball. Our defense is tired, Jets are moving the ball when they don't get penalties, and we're in desperate need of a turnover. 4th quarter, up 17. This is what we've been wanting. Now FINISH IT.
  13. HUGE stop by defense! That looked more like it! Need a couple big runs here because we certainly look hesitant on offense passing it right now. Gotta be really careful...our specialty! 😁
  14. Lord have mercy. We're up 17 and it don't feel like it. What an incredible special teams play, just incredible. Saves the points and removes 6 minutes or so of clock. Gimme a couple first downs here, leggo.
  15. I'm loving it but not thrilled with rush defense. We're legitimately in trouble if we don't keep scoring. We aren't close to stopping them.
  16. I'd be SHOCKED if Moore came back. That looks like concussion all day, but fingers crossed. We're getting thin at WR to say the least, so we need to protect the ball and score 10 points in the next half. I think that would clinch it.
  17. Wowowow! Holy cow! Guys, if we don't start putting the ball away when we run it, I'm going to lose my mind. We're holding it like a loaf of diseased bread. 😂
  18. I'm so sick of the stupid decisions. I honestly can't believe it. THE ONLY way you'll lose is by doing that. It's inexcusable.
