Thanks Tia (and Dutch). I’m encouraged that he’s finding a way to push through it and seems to get better as the game goes on, sorta like a starting pitcher who doesn’t have his best stuff when the game starts and has to take a couple innings to find it.

Question about Watson’s throwing mechanics. A number of his throws this last game reminded me of a basketball hook shot, more wrist and elbow than shoulder. I don’t think that’s any kind of astute observation, the guy’s got a bad shoulder and all, but l feel like he’s been working at these types of throws the last few games with mixed results, but l think he’s found a groove and even figuring out how to sling some longer passes like that. Anyone else seeing this or is it in my head?

Ford had a 6.3 yds/carry average too, a very solid Chubbian type day.

This was a particularly satisfying win. Spent the day visiting some cousins l haven’t seen in awhile in Bowling Green and Van Wert, and to see our Brownies pull off the upset win in VW was the cherry on top. Go Browns!

Most of Ohio is good, except once again us greater Cincinnatians and my forsaken homies in Van Wert. Most of AZ gets the game, as well as a weird little stretch of CA that borders Mexico. Mexicans totally love the Browns. The greater Youngstown area gets the game. As does a good swath of WV and a sliver of KY mountain land. I spent the better part of the last couple days in Berlin, OH, full on Amish country in Holmes County. It’s gorgeous there! And apparently a dry county? They get the Browns game this week. The Amish totally love the Browns.

I totally expected something involving scantily clad warrior princesses. I suppose that could be construed as Steeler’s fans.

The Pacific Northwest is locked in too. And there’s this weird population center trend this week where every city you would catch a connecting flight through gets the game too. Atlanta, Jacksonville, NYC, Boston, Juneau, Miami…

I went to Maine over the summer. My first time there, neat place. Went to Rockland. The LAND of ROCK. I was impressed with Maine. Beautiful place and really cool people. They all stop at crosswalks. Like if they’re driving, and you’re walking, and you square your shoulders like you’re going to cross the street, they stop. It’s pretty cool. No one seems to be in a hurry there either. I’m most surprised something like this could happen there. Very sad.

Re: the OP l got something here. A corndog analogy. The players on a football team are like a hot dog. Perfectly functional, come from many parts and put together in a system like manner, and for the most part form a unit that performs its function with a degree of consistency. And the crispy deliciously deep fried batter coating? That’s the head coach. That’s the thing that holds the team together, makes them hot and crisp, or can make them mushy and disappointing. I think Kevin Stefanski is fine deep battered and fried.

We don’t need to bring anyone in right now, he’s paid rather well through 2024 with us. I’d like to see us draft or spit polish a diamond-in-the-rough type guy between now and then to challenge him for catches.

A possibly off the mark observation/theory l have about Jones is that he’s not going to rack up a lot of holding calls. His blocking style comfort zone seems to be to use his hands and size to keep opponents literally at arms’ reach. A sort of push ‘em back push ‘em back approach where, as long as his feet can maintain position, works for him. And it doesn’t allow the defender to get close enough where he would have the opportunity to hold him. Sound like a sound theory? And is there a website that keeps track of holding calls where l could verify this?

I like Coop, quite a bit, but he’s kinda like a super possession receiver. I don’t think he’s overly fast or shifty or powerful, so l don’t see us backing the Brinks truck up to him anytime soon. IMO the Brinks truck worthy wideout is the guy with great hands and great YAC. Like Josh Gordon before his life got ridiculously weird. ...... in a plain grey Brink's truck ...... and small bills, please. Coop prefers his pay that way. $10's and $20's please.
