  4. Good deal for Cleveland ? Denver ? Both ? Neither ? You would think the BROWNS would really like another deep threat would be nice with Amari Cooper. The price a 5th and a 6th ? A need with Moore, Bell already there ? ●~~~~~~~~● ▪︎. Playing with abysmal quarterback play in his first three years, however, the production of Jeudy has not lived up to the hype of his draft slot. Through three seasons, Jeudy has yet to break 1,000 yards receiving. ▪︎. His career-high came in 2022, when he racked up 972 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. This past season he accumulated only 758 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games. The details of the trade have been released as well, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that the Browns will get Jeudy for the price of a fifth and sixth round pick in the 2024 NFL draft. When considering this is the shallowest draft class in NFL history, cashing out two of those Day 3 picks to gamble on a former first rounder is well worth the risk. Now coming to Cleveland, a team in desperate need of an upgrade to their wide receiver room, Jeudy will be inserted as the WR2 for the Browns. Story originally appeared on Browns Wire
  5. Yahoo Sports, March 9, The Denver Broncos have reportedly traded receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for fifth- and sixth-round picks, according to the NFL Network. Ahead of last season's trade deadline, the Browns reportedly attempted to acquire Jeudy to no avail. But with free agency and the new league year looming, the Broncos and Browns were able to work out a trade. The deal won't become official until Wednesday, when free agency officially begins. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (10) is headed to Cleveland after spending his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos. (AP Photo/Justin Edmonds) Denver is in the process of a furious housecleaning to help clear cap space. This move clears $13 million, according to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones.
  6. Yes I can see that .... or any of those FA RBs plus a returning Chubb for a solid 1-2 punch again.
  7. Opening Day April 8th 2024 ! The day of the next eclipse is going over Cleveland. ▪︎--> Your questions and comments are very welcome please. Did anyone get tickets for the Opener ? Good for you. Good bye winter. We would like your seat information and comments ! (Does this give you baseball fever ? Blue skies, green grass and sunshine in Cleveland, Ohio .... It does to me. )
  8. Opening Day 2024 ! And finally ▪︎--> How will the young pitchers perform in their sophomore seasons? While Williams, Bibee, and Allen excelled in their rookie seasons, their sophomore campaigns will be even more challenging. Opposing teams now have something of a book on these starters, and it'll be up to each of them to continue their development. That might not come without some growing pains. If the Guardians are going to compete for the AL Central in 2024, the pitching rotation - even more than the much-talked-about and evolving offense - will be the most important factor. ★ And this will be one of the biggest stories of the Cleveland GUARDIANS in this season of 2024. GO GUARDIANS !
  9. ▪︎--> Opening Day 2024 ! The Cleveland Guardians have earned the reputation of being a pitching factory over the years, and the 2024 season might prove to be their magnum opus. Assuming the health of everyone going into the season, the Guardians are looking to feature a starting rotation of players all drafted by Cleveland and developed within the organization: Shane Bieber (drafted in 2016), Triston McKenzie (2015), Gavin Williams (2021), Tanner Bibee (2021), and Logan Allen (2020). Will Cleveland's Pitching Carry the Guardians to the Playoffs in 2024? It's pretty incredible to see what Cleveland continues to be able to do in its pitching development. And, once again, if the Guardians are going to make any noise in the AL Central in 2024, they're going to need the rotation to stay healthy. Unlike last year, there aren't a ton of high-profile pitchers in the minors ready to just step right in like Williams, Bibee, and Allen did last year. That's not to take away from the talent coming up through the system (hello, Joey Cantillo), but it would be unfair to expect that kind of depth each and every year. Eventually, the Guardians are going to need their rotation to stay relatively healthy, especially at the top. Consistent pitching development is one of the key reasons the Guardians have remained one of the best teams in the American League since 2013, culminating in that 2016 World Series run. While the team continues to revamp and reassess its offensive identity, the hope is that the pitching continues to be the reliable, rock-solid foundation on which they can rely. Here are the two biggest question marks as to whether that can happen: Can Bieber and McKenzie stay healthy? The prospects of this feel dim considering the injury histories of both starters at this point. But this also presents an opportunity for both pitchers to prove the doubters wrong. Bieber made 21 starts last season and McKenzie only made four, with both seasons cut short by injury. If the Guardians can get at least 20-25 starts out of both of them, that would be a big win for the staff. ▪︎--> to be continued ▪︎-->
  10. Oh yes "The Eclipse 2024" runs right smack dab through the middle through the center of Ohio and even through the "Opening Day 2024" and through the city and surrounding cities around .... .... Cleveland, Ohio ! Now how about that. In the middle of Opening Day 2024 the skies will become totally dark and then light again ..... not to be seen again in Ohio until the year 2099 some 75 years from now. Just think if you're 15 now you will be 90 on the next total solar eclipse in Ohio. Wow.
  11. ▪︎ ⚾ Cleveland GUARDIANS Opening Day 2024 ! Hooray ! It's on April 8, 2024 this year. Hmmm April 8, let's see 4-8-2024, what else is happening on that day ... April 8 Per reports from The Cleveland Scene, WKYC 3News, News 5 Cleveland, and Cleveland's Fox 8 News, the Guardians have confirmed that their 2024 home opener on April 8 will begin no earlier than 5:10 p.m. This is because of a total solar eclipse that is also set to take place that day.Feb 7, 2024
  12. 182 days = 26 weeks or exactly 1/2 of a year. So what could happen in that small period of time, hmmm.
  13. Here's some more "food for thought" the value of running backs. Bargains ? Get ready for some more talk about the value of running backs. The circular debate about running backs and their worth will continue this offseason because there are a lot of big-name stars that are about to hit the market. There are players who are well known and have helped a lot of fantasy football teams, but what kind of deals will they find with teams being wary about giving veteran running backs long contracts?
  14. From yahoo sports, 5 big time FA RBs : ▪︎ Here are the top five free agent running backs: 1. Saquon Barkley, New York Giants Perhaps Barkley is a bit overrated due to his lofty status as a prospect out of Penn State and a historic rookie season. Barkley has one Pro Bowl season out of his last five. That can be blamed on injuries and an often mediocre Giants situation around him, but there is a question over how good Barkley is and how much a team should spend on him. Barkley did not get a franchise tag, like he did last offseason, so we'll see what kind of deal he commands. 2. Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders Jacobs was an All-Pro in 2022, when his talent finally translated to huge numbers, including a rushing title. Last season was a step back, but that might have had something to do with Josh McDaniels. After McDaniels was fired, Jacobs looked a lot better before an injury ended his season. He's just 26 years old and seems like a fairly safe investment, as far as running backs go. 3. Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys Pollard got a shot as the Cowboys' unquestioned RB1 and was fairly underwhelming. That makes him a hard evaluation because he was highly efficient in the seasons before that as a 1-2 punch with Ezekiel Elliott. His career mark of 4.8 yards per carry is fantastic, tied with Christian McCaffrey's career mark. But how much should a team spend on a back that might not be best suited in a featured back role? 4. Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans Henry has had an outstanding career, but that's part of the problem. The Titans — and the University of Alabama before that — gave him as many carries as he could handle. Henry led the NFL in carries four of the past five seasons, and only an injury in 2021 kept him from making it five-for-five. He's 30 years old with 2,030 regular-season NFL carries, and that doesn't count the postseason or a huge college workload. He's also a unicorn who averaged 4.2 yards per carry despite a below average offensive line blocking for him last season, so maybe he still has a couple prime seasons left. 5. Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers Ekeler tried to leverage his past production into a bigger deal last offseason, but eventually settled for the Chargers adding just $1.75 million in incentives. He's one of the main examples of star running backs not being able to land huge long-term deals. He's a tough, shifty runner whose biggest asset is being one of the best receiving backs of his era. That will have value to some team, even as Ekeler enters his age-29 season.
  15. ♥︎ ALL of those dozens and dozens of Cleveland INDIANS games from my first one in 1959 at that ... ol' MUNI STADIUM ... right there on the lake. 16. Catcher Mike Zunino retires. Who ? Oh yeah Mike. But he did qualify for his nice MLB Pension ! (see above post)
  17. Another former Guardian announces his retirement, Catcher Mike Zunino. Cleveland Guardians catcher Mike Zunino looks toward the team bench during the fourth inning of a baseball game against the Minnesota Twins, Thursday, June 1, 2023, in Minneapolis. (AP Photo/Abbie Parr) CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Former Cleveland Guardians catcher Mike Zunino officially announced his retirement from baseball on Tuesday. He made the announcement in an Instagram post: Zunino originally signed a one-year free agent deal with Cleveland prior to the 2023 season. He struggled during his time in Cleveland batting .177 with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. He was a liability on defense allowing an MLB-worst five passes balls on the season. He threw out just 16.7% of attempted base stealers. He was released by the Guardians last June. ■ Prior to his brief stint with Cleveland, Zunino played 10 seasons in the Major Leagues with both Seattle and Tampa Bay. ■ ▪︎ In 2021 he was named an American League All-Star after hitting a career-high 33 home runs for Tampa Bay.
