It's sad when it's gotten to the point that when I hear about another mass shooting I just think: "Well, just another day in America".

Seeing quite a few of his games at Penn State, I came away impressed with this kid and was hoping the Browns would have drafted him. He seemed to make a lot of big plays for their QB downfield at Complicit Valley.

If no one cares about Mahomes, then why was a thread created about Mahomes? Or was this just an exercise for Browns fans on here to wax poetic about how great they think Mayfield will be in comparison to Mahomes, and anyone posting anything that might disagree with that just gets yelled at?

He only started at QB for his senior year of HS. He was a WR before that, head coach's son was the QB.

The dude is a joke. He knows exactly how the Browns will Shmuck up the draft, when none of it comes true he loves the draft and loves the direction this team is going, but when that gets old and he doesn't get enough attention from people stupid enough to believe he thinks this he goes all "this team Shmucked up the draft and they are destined for more misery"... Laughable.

The Ravens have zero problems selling tickets. They drafted Jackson to be their eventual franchise QB. I don't think it was a wise move, but that's why they drafted him.

I don't quite understand why the Steelers using a 3rd rounder on a QB who could be a good value pick upset Roethlisberger... Also find it funny that he's gone from "I could retire soon, maybe in a year to... I see myself playing 3-5 more seasons". I get Flacco being upset that the Ravens used a first rounder on Jackson - even if the Ravens should be looking to upgrade the position. Flacco is a mediocre starter at this point.

I'll still take a QB who can stand in the pocket, keep his eyes downfield while the pass rush is around him, process the play, make his reads, and consistently deliver an accurate, on-time pass over athletic one-read and run QBs all day long. The NFL has consistently caught up with the latter.

I was thinking the same exact thing - when they announced the Ravens selected Jackson I did not have one iota of "Uh oh". Didn't bother me at all. Then he was interviewed on the stage, and man, he seems like he's a great kid, but the guy can barely put together a complete sentence. I'm not sure all the words he used was English. I literally said out loud: "They took THIS guy and think he's a franchise QB?"

#1 teams were 135-0 going into that game vs #16s... And it wasn't even close, Virginia lost by 20!

The problem is the triple option is such a rare offense that it is almost impossible to practice against. You can't just have the scout team mimic it, it is an offense unlike most have ever played in. The youth football program I coached with ran the Wing T offense, which is kind of like the triple option in that it relies on tons of fakes, counters, and pulling offensive linemen. The first time I saw it up close I positioned myself with the defense, back with the safeties. Half the time I'd be so faked out that I'd be following the wrong back or QB 10 yards downfield.

The hurt from that game lasted a long, long time. Man I loved that '06 team.

There's a pretty good chance the Browns will end up with the #1 overall pick, and a top 10 overall pick via Houston, Tour. Are you saying that you'd pass on Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson, Rudolph et al with these two picks and take a flier later on Benkert?
