Huge step for him. Glad that he has finallly been open about it. I wouldn't say it is an easy situation as players share dressing room and all that but I think today's society is able to be open about it and simply keep acting normal. Some people think that gay people for being gay, are attracted to everyone of their gender so sharing a dressing room is weird, but I wouldn't say it is the case and I hope they embrace it in their team and don't treat him any differently.

In Spain we don't make those kind of obituaries, at least not for the average Joe,so I'm thankful of that tradition because I got to know more about Gipper... He might have left us too soon, but he had a plentiful and happy life. Thanks for sharing one part of it with us, Thomas. You will be missed.

So this was Gipper's last post. Talking about where Buthan is and the "Few" of the Battle of Britain. I just found out this morning and I'm still shocked.

Damn it, I just found this thread! I have been busy... What a loss. He was the first person I looked after when I found this board, always had something to say and I found it interesting. Then I had the chance of getting to know him better through his posts, discussing about trivial stuff, soccer, history... Some times I found it to be interesting, some times I found it tiring, but I always thought it was as discussing with your stubborn friend who won't change his mind at some things so then you decide to simply stay quiet and sip some more beer while you roll your eyes and change the subject. I would have had some beers with the Gipper if I had had the chance to. Makes me think that I must go to Cleveland and tailgate some day just to meet you guys. Gipper always had an opinion and stood for it, and was one of the biggest contributors to this Board, so he will be missed. Rest in Peace, amigo.

That old Crew logo looked great (first time I see it) and the new logo is awful as hell. I don't know how did they come up with such an ugly shield form. It is one of the weirdest soccer logos I have ever seen. What the hell is that right triangle beneath the C???

A win is a win. That's the same case scenario when a bad soccer player scores a beautiful goal: "it's a fluke, blablablah..." Who cares as long as HE DID score a beautiful goal.

I know you love cal so much, but I have to side with him on this one. He got many people in this board saying that Allen couldn't hit the broad side of a barn during all the draft process and he shut many voices with his performance (plus he's a great guy and team leader, IMO). So cal has some bragging rights on this one.

I'm both Spaniard and Hispanic. Villa is a term that comes from latin and exists in many languages, and means both country house or village. In fact, village comes from that same latin term. Villanueva therefore means either new country house/village. I would believe that it is Vilanova in italian and not Villanova (LL is hispanic)

Nah, I was just messing with you for messing with his Hispanic surname. Spaniard is from Spain, hispanic is a Spanish etnic descendant, so it includes most of Central and South America and the Caribbean, for example. Alejandro is half Spaniard, because both his parents are from Spain, but he was born and raised in the USA.

You can choose to respect a Spaniard or better yet, a veteran, Dipper In Spain we follow this guy (just like Arcega-Whiteside) and he's a cool, respectful guy, but I think it is safe to say that he is a downgrade from Orlando Brown. He has consistently been a weak link in the Steelers' Oline I'd say.
