I miss that guy too. Probably my favorite poster to follow on this board!

I remember being very aware of how many times I heard his name when we played them. Cautiously optimistic.

Who’s up for going to the Rams?
-
Have asked this question before, never gotten an real response… When Joe came out of college, what was the buzz? Was he as highly a rated no brainer as Orlando Pace or Anthony Munoz when they came into the league. I’m not really a college football fan, he was an unknown entity to me.

Tell me if I'm mistaken, or if this has already been covered here, but I am the only one who feels like JOK has regressed this season? Last year, when he was healthy, like he was all over the place. Announcers seemed to keep saying his name. This year, not so much. Syd? Dutch? Zom?

Now you've done it!
I'm willing to bet 💰 I'm the only browns fan, that could still mow his grass in a worn red #12 NC State t-shirt with Brissett fading on the back 🤓..
JB QB'd Browns former draft pick RB Matthew Dayes and others at NC State....Justin Burris/Germain Pratt/Bradley Chubb/Joe Thuney/BJ Hill & Nyheim Hines/ to bowl games in 2014 & 2015.. I've met & shook JB's huge hands at 2 NC State basketball games..If ya saw his post-game Player of the game interview on amazon prime? He's a full class sportsman!
JB was drafted to a perfect place with Brady & Jimmy G at NE.. He'll credit Brady for his QB sneak ability.. JB was inactive vs Atlanta in SB, but he owns a SB ring to bling 👑
JB moved on to the Colts.. Lucky man/few weeks to prepare.. JB was the QB to replace a stud QB in Andrew Luck, to increase his QB football background.. Than came along another NC State'er named Phillip Rivers to put JB back to a QB backup status..
JB gets another chance knowing HC Brian Flores from his Patriots days at Miami..Once again, another QB week 2 injury to Tua, made JB a starter again..
I'm not sorry.. JB brings no gifted athletic skills such as a Lamar to his QB position..
but, I can still remember a JB quote from a NC State presser? "carry your own damn lunch pail & come in here to work".. 🎒
If ya can't root for a starting NFL QB like Jacoby Brissett? I'm not your Jacoby fan, that can help ya !
signed,
Go get some JB ! You have earned your way, to a great sports town like Cleveland
Great post.

I am not a Baker hater. In fact, I really grew to like him. But IMHO and given his track record in Cleveland, I don’t believe he would have led us down the field to put us in FG range.
I’ve been a Browns fan since I was 12 years. Been through a lot with this team.
I’m bothered by the ambivalence I’ve been feeling all off season. The Mayfield drama. The Watson drama. It’s been draining.
For me personally, had we had lost on Sunday it would have been one of the Browns darkest moments. Factory of Sadness laughingstocks to historic proportions. The pundits would have had a field day at our expense.
Instead. I’d like to see this as the dawn of a new era. Cade York, whether it’s this season, next season, or the season after, this is the start.

Oh yes, he knows his trade well. Our HOF guy.
Both announcers are doing a nice job. Much more enjoyable than listening to the Jags guys last week. Joe is great fun

Oh, Flugs is mostly right, Shep had a man crush on quarterbacks, and would analyze them to the death. He was mostly wrong though. Notable failures... Joey Harrington, Jimmy Clausen, Brady Quinn. & See below...
RE: Mr. Quinn.. Shep and a few others were responsible for the Great Board Schism back then.. Got so POed at Stan, they ran off and started their own competing Board B-arking H-ard (I believe that's still on auto correct.) It's now hanging on by a thread too, because Shep and others got POed there recently and took off. I've lost track of him.
What I do know in his line of work he makes enough $$$ to travel and get the best seats at away games. Don't quote me on this as being accurate, but I believe he's a screenwriter living in LA. I have his cell # (haven't used it in years). Even met him after a Browns game many Moons ago, and I will say this- (and my nephew agrees) his daughter is drop dead gorgeous with the looks of a model.
Shep had his moment. He was a pretty big deal screenwriter/director a few years back. I always liked him. We had lunch a couple of times in LA. He sure as hell knew his Browns history. Made it fun to talk with him.

Will never forget that game back in '93 when he returned those two punts for TDs against the Steelers.

Will one of the O-Line gurus help me understand why he washed out in Cleveland? It's certainly not for lack of giving him a chance virtually everywhere on the line... I don't mind that we gave up on him.Every time he was in I recall cringing... What is the explanation for his success in LA? Thanks

Have to give a nod to Denzel Ward. Kid brought his A game and that last stick well short of the chains was textbook.
A game like this really reminds you of what we have in Ward when he's healthy. Hope we can keep him healthy for good long time. What's the status of extending him?

Good to see JOK in there.
Haven't seen his name anywhere, thought he was in covid protocol.
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

RIP Thomas "Gipper" Gipson 😪
We will send a nice arrangement from The Browns Board to the funeral home by Thursday's reception.
If you'd like contribute, 10 or 20 bucks, or whatever you can, the link is below,
Any surplus will go toward keeping our Browns Board running.
Thanks Zom. One of these days we'll have to hoist a few in person.

Gipper on the far left, next to Hoorta, I'm holding the Game Ball.
Gipper, Hoorta, somebody's head and then me. That is Atlanta Mike in front of me #43, and Ed "Roachmaster" on the far right in his Iconic "I Hate the Steelers" T-shirt.
Stan's Memorial, Gipper is behind me in the white sweatshirt.
This one's full of legends. As for Gipper, he's got Marko to his left, Sperk to his right, Stan and kathy are in front of them, and I'm behind Kathy. Grabbing her ass.

LEGENDARY!!!!!
