Some really good games today. Lots of flipping back and forth. Bengals (Chase) specifically something is up. His routes were lackluster. On the other side one of my favorite weapons coming out of this draft Zay Flowers going to be tough matchup for us in the years to come. He’s essentially what they hoped they would get out of Marquis Brown Jets are a .500 team at best with Wilson. I don’t think we have to worry about them (playoff wise). Giants second half was impressive. One of the best halves of football offensively. They got it going with Danny Dimes feet. Bijan Robinson. Going to get couple eye rolls but I think he’s the best back in football. Elite wiggle and fast. That team has some weapons. Some are very underutilized. Lions aren’t quite there yet. Geno Smith has some weapons but he’s still vulnerable in my opinion. Lots of great WRs on the field in that game. The Cowboys (my sleeper) are going to be a tough out. Next week. Titans had some problems protecting Tannehill. Going to be Henry and lots of deep play action shots. The pressure needs to get there and we need to put our big boy pants on and get Henry moving East and west behind the line of scrimmage. Their defense- they make an offense play ugly. Going to be tough game next week for us. Chargers earned everything they got. Our next four…no finesse about them…Steelers, Titans, Ravens, Niners.

Guarded optimism. I get it. This game will probably be a dawg fight. All I know is we have a better QB and a better roster. That normally translates to a W. Truth here - We’ve played better Steeler teams. Their need for a W may create a sense of urgency but when that inevitable wears off we have a better roster

I’m starting a thread. Newton Illinois DT. I thought he was coming out last year I wanted us to take a look early third day. He had an impressive 2022 season. He is just a menace against Penn State. Very impressive. He appears to be moving up the mock draft boards too.

I’m that guy too. Although Week 1, I loved how he moved Myles around and the secondary appeared comfortable and around the ball. This appears to be a team that can be dangerous if they are playing with a lead. My question…What’s the defense going to look like when we play a team with a better commitment to the run game. And I think we are susceptible to the screen game. I fully expect the Steelers to go 12 personnel and also deploy the screen game on us. Let’s see how we hold up.

We had good discussions on here about the strengths and weaknesses of his game. It was never a general rule that the WRs couldn’t get separation. And for the most part of his time in Cleveland he had better protection than 80% of the QBs in the NFL. It was often the case when the WRs had separation Baker locked onto an initial read and didn’t make the right decision like throwing to a WR that could make a play. I’ve learned one big lesson as I’m still a fan of Baker although happy to have another option at QB. I don’t get bowled over by good/decent/bad Baker performances because by years end he will evenly fill each bucket with good game followed by a bad game. He’s not consistent enough at this level and I think the three other teams he was part of the past 14 months realize this too.

I could see the Steelers selling out to stop Chubb and some opportunities opening up downfield. I think This game is on Deshaun and the offensive tackles giving time to protect. Let Chubb bleed the clock the last 15 mins

Best way to negate TJ is to stay out of 3rd and long. Slightly easier without typical stellar NT play you get from the Steelers and No Heyward.

Niners with that ground and pound and tough defensive front that will be a tough one. And I think these are tough matchups for us….Eagles, Pats, Dolphins, Chiefs, cowboys. And We seem to hang in the last two times we’ve played the Chiefs. These teams have one other thing in common….they aren’t on the schedule.

Strong feeling that We are going to get a lot of 12 personnel this week from the Steelers. They didn’t run the ball last week. They will try this week. Browns have a decided advantage when the Steelers want to throw the ball. Johnson is out…the guy they use to spread the field. The Tackles are really suspect and will need some help. Our defense will get an entirely different look this week. It will be an ugly win…if we get the win. im always cautious with assigning any success to Browns offenses against Steeler defense but the lynchpins have always been Great NT play and Heyward. That’s missing this Monday…so maybe we have more success. Im curious what the resident Stiller fan thinks about this matchup

Johnson is now out multiple weeks. One of their tackles is in Concussion protocol so their rookie might be starting against Myles.

They will still be player if they can shore up their OT spots or gameplan around it. I was laughing when they are pushing for Brady- I’d be shocked if he came out of retirement to play behind two bookend turnstiles. Their defense is great and they can run the ball and they have a true number 1 WR that was productive with the young scrub last year. You can win a fair share of games with those pieces. Teams like the Browns that can pressure from the edge - long night for the Jets.
