  1. Nope just settling into reality. Brissett got a 3.5 M raise and a better opportunity to start. I don’t blame him or our front office. The day he signed the contract is the day we should have all moved on. We can’t afford an 8M fringe starter/backup. For the foreseeable future Plan A, B, C is Deshaun Watson. We pay him too much…we pay others too much. If he goes down the ship goes down especially now with Chubb out. I’m not gonna waste my time debating JAGs whether its Mond or whomever else we want to throw in the conversation. And that was a cheap shot right in front of our favorite Offensive lineman too
  2. I know what Brissett is and you could argue he played like a fringe starter. I believe we wanted him back…these are quotes before the final game last year. https://brownswire.usatoday.com/lists/browns-jacoby-brissett-cherish-2022/ Sounds like a guy out the door. So we can lament that we should have brought him back but it takes two. Im saying I don’t notice any dirty play against Watson. Has drawn a late hit flag? I think 1 in three games. I just notice really shitty effort from our left tackle that may expose Watson more than necessary. The Shot he was injured on he didn’t slide. To say Clemson and Texan teammates jumping all over opponents rough housing but the Browns teammates not - I don’t see an opportunity where his teammates here needed to stand up for him. And I’m leaving the off the field stuff out of the equation
  3. I thought Brissett had TWO feet out the door at seasons end. Going to Washington could still be a good option for him to start. Sitting behind someone making 230M - the guy in front of him will get 2nd…3rd and a 4th chance to succeed…heck the HC will get fired before Brissett gets a chance if Watson doesn’t play to a standard and we miss the playoffs. I spent two months on this board coming down on people for criticizing Brissett last year (while absolving Woods) Brissett played well (and really well at times) with no expectations…I could imagine he had the respect of the other 52 guys on the roster with the way he performed. maybe I missed the play but what time did teammates not stand up for Watson? I would probably be pissed at the Titty blocking and lack of effort from Wills but again I don’t understand what grievance Watson would have against his teammates. I’m trying to figure it out…is it not signing his buddy Hopkins? The league is not behind Watson at all. If he wants to piss off the only organization behind him now…I think that amounts to career suicide.
  4. if this is correct…I believe Stefanski reported he was medically cleared to play…did someone else say this? Stefanski is typically careful with his words probably too careful to a fault. Why ignite this situation with “he was cleared but the he determined he couldn’t go”. Probably not the perception you need to put out there to what is believed to be a mentally fragile player. Im going to guess Probably half of our roster would suit it up if the doctors said “I don’t know”. They are playing for their next contract so of course something like this may not sit well with them.
  5. And they play Sunday night against the Cowboys. Getting head to head against a 3-1 conference foe and fighting for home field and bye…biggest game of the year thus far for them. I hope they pour time and energy into winning that and hopefully they roll them so we aren’t playing a pissed off 49er squad in two weeks. Schwartz gets to see how the Cowboys successfully deploy Micah Parsons
  6. Hitting the nail on the head here. Just want to add about Shanny…I watched Niners Cards and you hear a lot about Shanny’s system and play calls. It is about his players too. The Cards were allergic to the flats all game and didn’t account for CMC. So he has success and it is back to the well time and time again. He needs a big play there it is 3 and 7 he gets 9 yards. He uses his playmakers and calls on them in key situations and senses the confusion and lack of execution on the defenses part to account for the flats and the 49ers best athlete. It is not Mitchell trying to make that play - he has CMC in there knowing he can beat the defender to the edge. I know it’s tempting sometimes for the smart guys to think of plays- throwing in a wrinkle to break tendencies but sometimes it is just about players and exploiting the opposing teams weakness to account for a player or a physical/athletic mismatch.
  7. we aren’t the only ones prone to weird decisions… I watched Brandon Staley do the analytic thing yesterday afternoon late fourth quarter. He went for it from his own 40 (his team was up by a score late in the game) he called the Eagles Bush Push or Flock of Bird $hit whatever they call it (sorry not an Iggles fan) I wonder if analytics considered the Chargers had a backup center in the game and a QB with a heavily banged non throwing hand - he had visible signs of difficulty taking snaps. I wonder if Tony or Mary Kay can ask the question if the analytics are modified when personnel changes. Like if the tackle is new and the other tackle is struggling with an injury is the sensible thing throwing 40 passes with most of them deep dropbacks?
  8. I hope it all evens out to 50/50 at the end but we haven’t been in the right side of calls the last two weeks. The Ravens got a tough call against them last week in overtime. The nfl went ahead and corrected that on the PI call against Ward which had less than half of the contact of the play they didn’t call for the Ravens last week. The DPJ non call against the Steelers was probably worse than the non call against the Ravens last week. In the lead or a close game, I hope we are up two scores towards the end of the game so a call doesn’t completely crash the game. i hate complaining about each and every call - it is a broken system though. You have a multi billion dollar mega operation and you have officials exerting control over it that work part time for the NFL and have very little accountability.
  9. We get calls. Did you see the first play of the game on offense that wiped out the long run?
  10. I just hate arguing for Dobbs or some other JAG. This a good roster one of our best since we’ve been back but losing the best Running Back in football and your Franchise QB - we are cheering on at best an 8-9 team. And Win some and lose some was not the expectation this year.
  11. In two and half quarters I watched… Dobbs wasn’t winning this one. I think we lost to a team with a very good offensive game plan and a QB that had an MVP type performance. I hate heaping praise on Lamar but he was great today. ^^^thats what we will need if we want to do anything this year.
  12. I believe he was looking for more of an opportunity to play. It seemed like we were an afterthought for him
  13. Very thin margin for error with Chubb and Watson out. Then you Lamar playing like an an MVP on other side. We need to take to the game in Baltimore
  14. Ravens Offensive coordinator masterclass performance And way too many missed tackles today
  15. That was needed big time. On offense We got to test this banged secondary but we have a rookie - tough spot.
