This secondary is undermanned but fighting. If we don’t get creative with the blitz again or just win one on ones with our front four the Rams are gonna score three more TDs
-
Gotta Clean it up- Big defensive series out of halftime.
Offensively we Need to protect McCray on the right side
-
There we go need Garrett tonight
-
Aside from the Ogunjobi sack. Front 4 not doing it tonight. Not a good sign once the Rams clean up these drops. We will need to heat it up with a few backers or a corner blitz.
offense- I think RPO all we have too much confusion tonight up front and McCray is a liability on deep QB drops
-
Love the RPOs and Chubb bringing the Rams in setting them up for a deep strike later
-
Need to dial up the blitz. Can’t leave this secondary hanging tonight. Goff is gonna boot leg another 5/6 times tonight need a blitz off the backside

From my experience LA is NOT very humid. Warm and breezy, yes....since LA was basically built in a desert. But dry.
Correct and It’s hot and dry especially Sept./Oct. which is also fire alert time in So Cal.

An overpowered line is overrated($)
Having a QB who can get the ball out quick? Priceless.
5 first round OLineman overrated IMO. Some of my fellow Browns fans would take one every year in the first round.
I’m all for really covering two positions well. Give me a LT you can put on an island and withstand most pass rushers with little to no help and give me a smart Center that can call out protections and make second level blocks. The rest to me is scheme and coach them up and build continuity with the group.

I still don’t understand what constituted a penalty on that second hit... he was in mid air for the tackle when Siemian still had the ball. Freddy said refs told him that he hit him to high....
whatever. Put them all in body bags Myles.
Agree. The first hit deserved the fine. The second hit no way. You could argue that the third (he wasn’t penalized) when he dropped the 3rd string on his head may have warranted a fine.
no problem with his play Just cut it out in close ball games in the second half of games

Professional football can be strange at times.
2-0 ATS teams that are on the road in Week 3 are 3-9 ATS the past three seasons..... that's only the Rams this year.Plus the line hasn't moved since Monday at CLE +3. I guess that's why they play the game.
I see this game going one of two ways: we get humbled and lose by 13-17....like a 30-13 type game.
or we snap out of our offensive funk and lose a 30-27 type game. I’m hoping for this.
That half point is key if you get 3 1/2 pounce on it

Clearly in your photo the ball has already been thrown.
ARTICLE 2. AFTER PASS IS THROWN
After the ball leaves the passer’s hand, ineligible pass receivers can advance more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, or beyond the position reached by their initial charge, provided that they do not block or contact a defensive player, who is more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, until the ball is touched by a player of either team. Such prior blocking and/or contact is pass interference if it occurs in the vicinity of where the ball is thrown. See 8-3-1-Note above for exception when blocker maintains continuous contact.

Yeah I brought it up because Romo or the other analyst mentioned it as a reason that the refs would have been reviewing the TD.
They didn’t miss that call. A flag should not have been thrown on that
I thought maybe they were going to drop a flag way after the fact (wishful thinking) on the blatant push/block in the back Right in front of the pass catcher.

Oline is a lot about your scheme/coach, and your QB. I like our Oline coach and our QB did a great job last year making quick decisions- when that happened was Robinson or Hubbard a problem? And when it happens again this year - they will not be a problem. I still think we target a LT or RT with our 1 or 2 round pick. But the folks wanting a complete overhaul- I think it’s completely unnecessary. The interior has actually played well
We need TE- I’ve lost faith in Njoku. If he was a stellar run blocker I could live with his drops but there is no way we pay him after his rookie deal.
We could use a Safety too. I’d prefer not to trade away draft capital for a DB/S in Ramsey who we need to throw huge money at- unless you feel Ward is not in the future plans. So you pay Ramsey and let Ward Walk after his rookie deal.

It's not confirmed yet, but it doesn't look good. Right now he's getting a second opinion, but it sounds like a torn pec.
We could literally be without our entire secondary, and I'm not even being dramatic. Randall is ruled out, Burnett is questionable, as are Greedy and Ward. Kirskey is out, Hubbard might play, and we're going to be without Njoku for at least a month, but I'm guessing much longer.
Ughhhhhhh.....
Greedy and Ward are irreplaceable we can deal without the others and probably feel no major setback from the backup.
This is the kind of team that Greedy and Ward are made for - fleet footed smallish WRs the Rams have. Carrie no thanks against these guys- he will have five penalties

Red Zone reported "chest injury". We'll see.
Browns roundtable with Grossi And Dieken speculated Torn Pec.

We’ve started a premature offseason priority list usually it’s longer but here goes:
Hubbard Replacement, Randall replacement (we ain’t paying the man) and NJoku insurance.

Kirksey out for the year? I have heard nothing about that.
Heard it was Likely a torn Pectoral.
-
SO This means they will pay Ramsey but let Ward Walk eventually? I think it’s terrible idea- it’s more terrifying losing two first round picks though
But You can’t have that kind of money wrapped into one position especially with Garrett and Mayfield on the Horizon
i don’t expect Shoebert or Randall back. The acquisitions and draft picks this past year indicate they are moving on.

It’s his wrist but can they fix his hands?

Ward has quietly been struggling a bit this year, and it's been showing on tape. Greedy on the other hand is quietly doing very well.
I gotta stick up for Ward a little the under thrown ball that the Jets WR toed the sideline- If it’s placed where it should be Ward is there to make the play. And the Crossers both weeks where are the safeties? I think Ward is doing a good job of maintaining his side of the field. He absolutely played better earlier last year but he set a pretty high bar last year too
-
TE and RT are the weak links. I figured. Probably addressed in the first and second round next year but It’s not all doom and gloom on the Oline though. Some really good and some respectable numbers as well.
Chubb has really done nothing wrong to this point other than being a victim to poor play calls which I tend to believe they jack all these scores up once we figure that out
-
He has played well. He’s filled nicely and made tackles as well one in particular against Tenn.
he looks 10x better than Deandre Baker selected well ahead of Greedy and is now getting schooled in New York.
i think he and Ward matchup well with the Rams they love their go routes and you have to be able to run with them. We really need to contain Cupp in the slot and be on our screen game with Gurleyman. It is probably a blessing that we saw 8/9 screens with Lev Bell and the Jets

I think you’re on to something Tex. Myles has seemingly added an element of “fuck all y’all” to his game, and l think he’s willing to barter a penalty or two so that the sweet pitter patter of his footsteps lives in the back of the QBs mind all game long.
I have no problem with this especially if it’s message sent to Division foes. Ideally it doesn’t take place in the 4th quarter of a close game

Then why complain? ...
There were plenty of short throws that went nowhere and screens. The offense was basically getting practice reps in as Jets were hopeless with third stringer QB
23 points against the Jets without Williams and Mosley? And you go into the game knowing that Gregg Williams is going to play a Safety 25 yards off the ball. It’s week 2 we have some new pieces but it needs work and the Browns are truly bless this year with Backs/WRs that can do special Things after the catch.
The offense is backwards now in its approach

The 89 yard TD wasn’t YAC? A lot of the short throws were guarded very well by NY. Screens didn’t work much. There were certainly “short” throws last night.
Edit: Baker missed open Chubb out of the backfield forcing it to OBJ and getting picked off as a result
And the OBJ TD play worked right? The other screen to Chubb was set up well but one of their DTs made an excellent play. We have a luxury of simplifying the route tree. When you have better athletes on the perimeter (for once) the five yard curl (easy throw) can net you a first down or a bigger play with some of the guys we have. Watch the DBs on OBJ he has had a huge cushion the last two weeks. Simple high percentage throws that don’t have to go between a second and third level of defenders. We can make it easier and still take a few shots down field. But this take shots down field and occasionally check down to the shorter route it’s not high percentage football
