  1. I'm happy for Stafford - it's nice to see a good veteran QB who suffered for his whole career with shitty teams finally get a ring, but this was a very sobering season for us Browns fans.

The bottom line - for the next 15 years we have to get through Burrow, Mahomes, and Josh Allen. And that's just in the AFC. Baker needs to be Baker of 2020 and not Baker of 2019/2021 for us to even sniff the chance of a Super Bowl. We also see how important it is to have 3 good WR's, with at least one stud. Cincy - Chase (stud), Higgins, Boyd...Rams - Kupp (stud), Odell/Robert Woods before injury, Van Jefferson.

For this year - the Browns probably compare the most to the Titans/49'ers. Run heavy teams who try to control the clock and play good defense. The problem is when you need to throw the ball....these teams can't (like us). I suppose the 49'ers came pretty close to beating the Rams in the NFC championship, but you basically have to catch lightning in a bottle with run heavy/dominant defense type teams winning a Super Bowl in the modern day NFL.

I think I'll have some more beer now.

Meh. I'd say their defense put that one to bed for them. (Joe putting up 250 yards and a 86 QBR)  But ya... Ok...

A typical butthurt Baker fan response. You're the only "meh" here, dipshit. Joe came back from 21-3 to lead his team to victory, including drives in the fourth quarter and overtime to win his team the game, something Baker could never do.

You want to look at passing yards and a QBR? Then let's revisit the 2020 Browns vs. Chiefs playoff game: Baker Mayfield - 204 yards and a 74.6 QBR and multiple fourth quarter chokes in a LOSING effort.

Haha yeah I'm noticing that. If you counter the insanity with rational thought to some of the village idiots on here, you are met with immediate scorn.

seriously some of you people must be brain damaged who the hell are you going to get to replace baker ?

The only brain damaged people in this thread are the one's who think Baker is leading us to a Super Bowl. I imagine the brain damage has occurred from years of alcohol abuse (probably due to the Browns) and regularly overdosing on Lawson's chip dip.

A classic Baker apologist post, cherry picking some random stat from another QB to justify Baker's shittyness.

Here's some real, actual data comparing all starting QB's in 2021. The key stat is not how many interceptions, but how many interceptions per attempt. You'll note Baker was 4th worst in interceptions per attempt in the entire NFL. The only QB's worse were Justin Fields, Mike Glennon, and Zach Wilson - two rookies and a 3rd string QB thrust into the starting role due to injuries - all on terrible teams. No matter how you spin it, Baker was complete dog shit this year.

  6. This is a passive-aggressive garbage post by the OP. Nobody gives a shit about this final game, we are out of contention for the playoffs. There will be no “I told you so” if we win with Keenum, while the Bengals should damn well be resting their stud starters.

I’ll turn the tables. Last year was the “perfect storm” for Baker. In 2020, Baker benefited from the best o-line in the NFL and the best running game in the NFL. Stefanski made him look better than he did. We had no major injuries on offense outside of Odell in 2020, who Baker had zero chemistry with because Baker is a one read quarterback. This year our RB’s were banged up, we had injuries to the o-line, and we asked Baker to step up and be the man. He couldn’t do it.

Out of the last 20 years, including more than 100 QB’s, Baker is near dead last in 4th quarter crunch time stats. He has no athleticism and has the mental/emotional maturity of a 12 year boy. We will never win a Super Bowl with him ever. This year wasn’t a down year for Baker, this year is the normal for Baker - you’re not going to have the number one o-line and running game each and every year. A quarterback needs to be able to pass the ball, not turn the ball over (Baker has more interceptions than any other QB since 2018 and we're a run heavy team), and lead us to a field goal or a touchdown in the 4th quarter. It's not his shoulder, it's not the lack of a #1 WR - we had a #1WR and Baker sucked so bad he went to another team where he's scoring a touchdown every game.

  7. 1. Get rid of Baker Mayfield - we picked up his 5th year option but we have the right to not move forward with it. $19 million for a bottom 10 QB is not acceptable and will only hurt the team. Kick the tires on Watson/Rodgers/Wilson. If they are not an option, draft a QB - move up if needed in the first round and have a solid backup veteran in place.

    2. Draft/sign WR's in free agency. Cut Jarvis Landry if we can get something better in free agency - his 2022 money is not guaranteed and we owe him over $16 million - he's a #3 WR but we're the Browns so we trying to make him a #1 WR. I just looked at the WR 2022 unrestricted free agency and it's pretty bare - Davante Adams, Mike Williams, Chris Godwin (coming off torn ACL) - probably can't get them because our QB situation is so terrible but kick the tires. Might be stuck with Landry's insane 2022 money. Draft WR's high, see if anyone is available in a trade (Brandin Cooks in Houston would be a solid #2 WR).

    3. Keep an eye on Conklin's health - his 2022 isn't guaranteed and we will owe him $15 million - guys coming off patella tendon tears rarely work out, the numbers are staggering in terms of how many come back (if it all) and are effective. Sign a RT if it's not looking good and more depth to the o-line.

    4. Sign/draft quality LB's - is anyone else tired of having these no-name linebackers? We've had only a few decent LB's in the last 30 years.

    5. Extend Denzel Ward.

My dream scenario is Deshaun Watson clears his legal problems and we make a deal with Houston for both Watson and Brandin Cooks. But it's just a dream.

Most likely scenario: we're stuck with Baker, we're stuck with Landry, we keep Conklin and he never is the same after the torn patella tendon. There's always 2023.

I'm excited to see what Berry can do here.

  8. I can't wait to see what the Baker apologists have to say this week. But, but his shoulder. But, but the play calling. But, but the refs. No. Just no. Good or bad shoulder, the play calling, good or bad WR's - Baker just blows. He's a bottom 10 QB. People cling on to last year because we got into the playoffs. That's old news. The current news is we have to pay Faker Fakefield $19 million next year, which means our supporting cast will be worse. Imagine how bad Baker will be next year without a top 5 o-line and the best RB corps in the NFL.
