Dear Lord I can't believe people still aren't getting it.

Two grand juries would not indict him because he did nothing ILLEGAL, not that he didn't do anything wrong.

From the NFL personal conduct policy:

Everyone who is part of the league must refrain from “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in” the NFL. This includes owners, coaches, players, other team employees, game officials, and employees of the league office, NFL Films, NFL Network, or any other NFL business.

It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. We are all held to a higher standard and must conduct ourselves in a way that is responsible, promotes the values of the NFL, and is lawful.

The perv had not been railroaded and deserved what he got.

You aren't getting. We know what the letter of the law states. Your argument just bolsters what I said. He doing nothing against the law, there is no shred of evidence that he did anything that violates the conduct you are quoting. It's not against the law or the NFL personal conduct policy to get massages, most NFL athletes get them. You are participating in group think because you don't like the quantity or the #MeToo cancel culture garbage, well you and everyone else don't get to be judge and jury.

  2. Hopefully Watson appeals and gets it reduced another two games down to four games.

Complete and total garbage that Watson is getting railroaded like this, but the NFL is trying to protect their image. TWO grand juries would not indict him because there is not one shred of proof of any wrong doing. People are simply using group think to reach the conclusion that "Twenty-six is too many!!!!". Then why didn't TWO grand juries think so? Especially in Texas where they have express lanes to convict people. Bull. Crap.

But moving forward to the season, if Jacoby can get us to 3-3 then Watson will be in good shape to take over and get us to the playoffs. Here we go Brownies, here we go!!!

    See below...

Tia, it can't be just Baker's guaranteed money...  You've posted plenty of screen shots with the circles and arrows.  If you're seeing Mayfield's deficiencies, I will bet the ranch every defensive coordinator in the NFL has seen all of it- and more.  $18 million is bargain basement for a mid level starting QB this year... So teams must think he's not even worth that. Sprinkle in coming off an injury and a lousy 2021 season. With the draft come and gone, I have the feeling teams are going to wait until the Browns are forced to flat out release him... Or we get lucky (and another team gets real unlucky) with a starting QB getting hurt in OTAs or mini camp.

Exactly. Baker's contract is guaranteed, so I'm assuming if we cut him today the cap hit would be the same if we cut him in September? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So at this point, we have nothing to lose by holding onto to him. If Seattle wants us to eat $18 million and they only pick up $1 million, then F that. Like you said, we should hold onto Baker through pre-season and I say even through the beginning of the regular season (not with the team of course). Then hope someone's starting QB blows out an ACL. But yeah, this is not a good situation - it would have been ideal to dump him now, but nobody wants to coach or play with a moody, immature man-child.

Seattle's dumb if they think Drew Lock is going to keep them competitive - he couldn't beat out Teddy Twatwater for the starting job in Denver.

  5. Carolina went with QB Matt Corral in the third round. That tells me they are rolling with Darnold/Corral and Baker is not in their thought process anymore.

This pretty much leaves Seattle. Despite the rumors, Seattle kept D.K. Metcalf. We know the Seahawks don't want to enter the season with Drew Lock/Geno Smith as their QB when they have Metcalf/Lockett. If they were tanking with Drew/Geno, I think they would have traded away Metcalf - they could have easily got a first rounder for him.

Baker for a 4th or 5th rounder to Seattle tomorrow? If Seattle doesn't take him, I have no clue where he goes.

  6. On the non-Browns divisional front:

I love that the Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett. Many had him as a third round talent, doesn't have a big arm, I think he's ends up a huge bust. I figured the Steelers were going Malik Willis.

Ravens traded away Hollywood Brown for a first rounder. I get Hollywood isn't a top 10 WR, but he's definitely solid. He went for 91/1,008/6 with Lamar missing 5 games. Not sure who they are going to throw to - Rashard Bateman as their #1 WR? Mark Andrews is a stud TE but they have nothing at WR unless I'm missing something.

I just thought which is better or worse  ?  Now the team has a lot to do with comparing stats side by side but let's take a look.

And to be fair both played through the COVID-19 era,  keep that in mind on stat totals.  So no names who's better ?

I'd definitely take that Houston QB. More yards, more TD's, less interceptions (this is huge), higher completion percentage, more game winning drives, higher QBR. And he did it with way less talent than the Cleveland QB.

  8. Most Browns fans get it, but about a third or so refuse to accept reality. They think Baker Mayfield was the second coming of Tom Brady or Joe Montana. In 2020, we made the playoffs and won a playoff game, which many incorrectly attribute to Baker. In 2020, look who Baker had at positions on offense:

RB Chubb (Pro Bowler), RB Hunt (Pro Bowler), WR Odell (Pro Bowler), WR Landry (Pro Bowler), LT Wills (Pro Bowler), LG Bitonio (Pro Bowler), C Tretter (Pro Bowler), RT Conklin (Pro Bowler), RG Teller (Pro Bowler), TE Hooper (Pro Bowler).

Baker had a player who has been a Pro Bowler at some point in their career at literally every position in 2020. We had no major injuries in 2020 besides Odell who Baker had zero chemistry with because he can't throw a deep ball or figure out how to use a top WR. I'm not saying Baker didn't play well, he did in 2020....but it was due to the monster lineup we had, not because of Baker. We beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs due to a fluke game where our defense scored a defensive TD on the first play of the game and then got us five turnovers throughout the game - we had two rushing TD's and two short passes that Landry and Chubb took to the house on their own effort. It wasn't Baker putting the team on his shoulders and dragging us to a victory. It was the defensive TD & turnovers and Hunt/Chubb/Landry.

Watson is a clear upgrade over Baker. There are Browns fans with low football IQ's who think that because Baker got us to the playoffs in 2020, he should keep his starting job for the next 15 years and not be held accountable for his poor play, lack of mental/emotional maturity, and complete inability to finish games or have a come back in crunch time (Baker's stats are among the all-time worst in 4th quarter crunch time). You can't win a Super Bowl in this league without a top QB, and Baker simply isn't a top QB and Watson is a top QB whether you like him or not.

  9. We see the way Baker acts publicly, imagine how he is behind closed doors? This lack of interest in Baker is very telling. His lack of talent, combined with his lack of mental and emotional maturity means almost no one wants to touch him. Who wants to coach a guy who is a jerk and won't listen to you? I'm starting to think a third round pick is a lofty goal for Baker....I hope I'm wrong, it'd be nice to get a good haul for him.
