  1. I was just talking about this with my dad a few weeks ago. I think the days of having a ton of elite pocket passers is over. We have these hybrid athlete-quarterbacks like Lamar, Kyler Murray, Hurts, Fields. I'm not sure what the stats say, but these QB's play in much more offense friendly rules so the stats may look better in today's NFL, plus 17 games not 16. But looking around the NFL at the end of the regular season, it seemed like half the teams had hot garbage at QB. Are the current QB's better athletes, for sure, but not better passers IMO.

In today's NFL, IMO the only 2 current players who could hang with the 1980's-2000's guys are Mahomes and Burrow (I'm putting Rodgers with the other group like tia mentioned). I know we have Burrow's number and he got injured this year, but he's going to be a problem for a very long time (I really hate the AFC North). If Lamar can win a championship this year, maybe he'll change my mind but we'll see if a hybrid guy can win it all.

Imagine guys like Montana and Marino playing under sissy rules where you can't touch the QB and wide receivers can't be touched either.

  2. "How many goals do we score for a touchdown?"

I would like nothing more than for Buffalo to win by one point in a fourth quarter comeback and the camera pans to Taylor Swift balling her eyes out and throwing a temper tantrum.

So, let's get back to our Browns: Here they were rated #10 NFL defense with concerns for next season:

    10. Cleveland Browns

    • Defensive Needs: DL, EDGE, S

The Cleveland Browns had the best defense in the regular season, but there were signs of regression in part due to injuries late in the year. Everything came undone in the Wild Card round against Houston, with C.J. Stroud averaging 12.7 yards per attempt with a 158.1 QB rating before being pulled. Our big concern is the looming losses for this defense. Cleveland’s current impending free agents include Za’Darius Smith, Jordan Elliott, Shelby Harris, Maurice Hurst, Rodney McLeod, Sione Takitaki and Anthony Walker Jr. Some of those defenders will leave and depriving this Browns’ defense of its depth, combined with the late-season regression, will give us some pause in 2024.

(click this link and read: the Browns need MORE weapons on offense.)

'"Cleveland can retain Cooper and Elijah Moore in 2024, but this offense needs more weapons. While the 2024 NFL Draft is a viable path to adding one, the best move for the Browns’ front office might be to bargain hunt in free agency for a one-year deal.'

    Pathetic Old Man,

Dumb post. What are your rational thoughts (you don't have any) for off-season moves instead of a lazy copy and paste?

wait, you had fragrant, unsubstantiated changies of subjectsies?

The Browns went to the playoffs in 2020. Look at the wr's Stafford had, then look at who Baker had.

If you aren't going to TRY to be serious, you're delirious.

So, the qb with the Giants made him a head case? really, now, how does that work exactly?

I took the stats directly from the link, Dink.

The Browns were 11-5 in 2020 with Mayfield at qb. Loser then? seriously?

How about, Mayfield set a new completion percentage record?

    Pathetic Old Man,

You're hanging on to a man-child who hasn't played for us in 3 years. Sad!

    Go Browns

You are right because The Browns won their last Championship about 2 weeks or so before I was born.. which was on Jan 7th..   The Browns 64 championship was on Dec 27th..

So you're the curse. A piece of dog shit is born and then the Browns never win another championship - sounds about right.

you could grow up and act like one, then....

meanwhile, OBJ -  the Giants were delighted to get his head case out of town. I think he finally started to grow up

with the Rams. In 2021, OBJ was targeted 48 times, only caught 27.

The Browns got sick of his act, too.

    The Rams?

Cooper Kupp, a star, was targeted 191 times, caught 145.

Van Jefferson was targeted 89 times, caught 50.

Along with Aaron Donald, the Rams were destined to win that Superbowl without obj.

it's stupid to bring up Njoku, he was a malcontent, like obj, until he was ALL PRO THIS YEAR.

    Let's see.... the 2022 superbowl........

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/202202130cin.htm

Cooper Kupp 10 targets, caught 8.

Cam Akers 4 targets, caught 3

Darrel Henderson, 5 targets, caught 3

obj his brand - 3 targets, caught 2.

    Brysen Hopkins ? 4 targets, caught 4

Van Jefferson 8 Targets, caught 4

and Ben Skowronek 5 targets, caught two.

say, Skowronek caught two passes like obj. LOL

    ************************************************

    furthermore, OBJ -

was all pro .... but the last time was 2016.

But thanks for showing any new members that

you aren't here to talk about the Browns, but to try to show off online.

    pretty sad, junior.

    Pathetic old man:

I'm here to talk about the current team that went 11-6 and made the playoffs, and the future of the team. But if you want to make shit up about the past, I'll gladly prove you wrong every time.

    2020 Odell stats:

With Browns and #1 overall bust of a QB: 17 receptions, 232 yards, 0 TD's

With Rams and Stafford, regular season: 27 receptions, 305 yards, 5 TD's - while learning a new playbook

With Rams and Stafford, playoffs - run to winning the Super Bowl: 21 receptions, 288 yards, 2 TD's (including a Super Bowl TD catch)

If you can't see the difference in QB play, then you're dumber than I thought. If you read my post earlier, I'm not saying Odell was the same player he was with the Giants when he came to Cleveland - but our #1 overall bust made him worse.

I loved the shifting on the Dline disguising the coverages and thats where it ended for me... As you said... The back end was always frustrating.. Although when Butch Davis took over... Earl Little was fun to watch at safety even though it was the twilight of his career...

Those back ends always give you trouble 🤣🤣🤣.

Interesting, at no point in my posts do I question you're sexuality....yet you seem to want to defend it. If you're a gay trans man who identifies as a woman, that's your choice.

And don't call me junior, I'm a grown man.

Go FUCK YOURSELF nickers. If you don't like what I have to say, then ignore me. If you don't want to support a Cleveland Browns team that went 11-6 and made the playoffs, then FUCK YOU and get off these boards.

And he hasn't done jack shit since his famed rookie catch , then piggy backed his way to a SB ring... The asshole is a Kunt ass coward and a locker room cancer.

Odell went to a Rams team with a competent QB in Stafford and was catching touchdown passes every game, including a touchdown catch in the Super Bowl that made the difference between winning it or losing it. Odell definitely wasn't the #1 stud we hoped he would be, but Faker made him worse, there is no disputing that.

Odell is also the #2 WR on the best team in football right now in the Baltimore Ravens, so yeah, I think he's doing just fine in Baltimore's locker room, he did fine in the Rams locker room. I don't even remotely like Odell, he's an a-hole, but I don't blame him for wanting out after playing under Faker.

    Such wonderfully cherry-picked stats.

Faker Meh-field's win-loss record as a Brown is exactly 30-30, so indeed a .500 QB as @AP1 pointed out. Watson is 8-4, and 5-1 this year. Don't care about the Browns winning, do you?

Calfox is the biggest loser on these forums, he tries to cherry pick stuff and is terrible at doing it. We are way better off without Faker Mehfield and no one can convince me otherwise. I've never seen a football fanbase cling to an ex-player the way some of the Browns beta cucks do with Faker. I mean calfox would give Faker a 24/7 sloppy-toppy if he could.

I love the Browns winning. All 4 qbs have won with the Browns. So what makes watson stand out, with his gigantic GUARANTEED CONTRACT ? and his past, where he lied to the Browns, after refusing to come to Cleveland.... they had to bribe watson to show up here.

Let's see, Baker didn't have the defense we have now. Get a clue - Jim Schwartz was not hired til this year, Jan., 18. Let's see, Baker didn't have Amari Cooper, their star #1 wr, who came to the Browns in 2022,  4 TIME PRO-BOWLER. Didn't have Cedric Tillman, wr. Tillman was drafted in 2023. Baker did NOT have David Bell, who was drafted in 2022.

Baker did NOT have Elijah Moore, acquired in 2023 from the Jets.

Baker did NOT have Marquise Goodwin - who came to the Browns in 2023.

Baker took the Browns to the playoffs in 2020.

The moral and financial fiasco of watson didn't have to happen. I said the Browns were seriously lacking in wr's.

I was absolutely correct - they fixed that after getting rid of Baker.

Oh, and Baker didn't have a happy finally wants to play football, and CATCH the football Njoku.

And Baker didn't have a vastly improved defensive line.

won-loss records don't tell much of the truth, ruth.

Here we go again. The Queen of the Baker Bukkake Club, calfox.

Don't sit here and tell us Baker didn't have talent on offense in 2020 - his entire offense was filled with Pro Bowlers and All-Pro's. We are better off without Baker. Our record and playoff appearance proves that. The culture of not having a QB with a 12 year old boy's temperament makes ALL the difference in the world in the locker room and on the field.

Elijah Moore was mediocre this year (59 catches - he's a #3 WR at best) and Marquise Goodwin had 4 CATCHES this year - Goodwin is a limited run down the field vertical route guy and that's it. So why in god's name are you saying Moore and Goodwin would make a difference? We won in spite of Baker, not because of him in 2020. It was Chubb, Hunt, and all the other Pro Bowlers and All-Pro's around him (and Kev).

Let's see who Baker had on offense in 2020, you fucking pathetic loser:

    Nick Chubb - 4x Pro Bowler, 1x All-Pro

Kareem Hunt - 1x Pro Bowler

    Odell Beckham Jr. - 3x Pro Bowler, 2x All-Pro

Jarvis Landry - 5x Pro Bowler

Austin Hooper - 2x Pro Bowler

David Njoku - 1x Pro Bowler

    Joel Bitonio - 6x Pro Bowler, 5x All-Pro

Jack Conklin - 2x All Pro

    Wyatt Teller - 3x Pro Bowler, 2x All-Pro
