  1. I'll keep an eye out for them, never seen that brew before.
  2. Sam Smiths is brewed in Tadcaster 10 miles from my house, not a bad town for a slurp or two with some nice pubs.
  3. Not tried that one, I don't mind a Guiness now and again.
  4. Very familiar with that one as it's sold all over Scotland and some times turns up in York as a guest ale. Will no doubt be sampling a few more when I go to Edinburgh in April.
  5. It's this fizzy German beer, they're all like lagers, better than that Fosters rubbish that some of my mates drink. I can't wait to get on it before I come out then after a week of it I'm pining for a pint of Taylors Landlord or Exmoor Gold, the type of hand pulled real ale that I slurp at home with no fizz. Just 3 nights to go then fly back Monday if they aren't on strike. I can highly recommend Munich, lovely place.
  6. I think it'll be London this coming season, any of you chaps up for it if it happens. I'll pop down all weekend and show you round Londons finest boozers, I don't drink in shit holes and I have a vast experience of drinking all over that city through organising off season days out on the piss round there and hundreds of visits pissing it up around Leeds awsy matches. I must be one of the only Northern fans with more imagination than visiting the Dolphin, Mabels and Euston flyer. The English lads on here will know what I'm on about. Greetings from Munich, this is my 7th night away and I think my insides are pickled.
  7. Had a right laugh, had a strole out to Brick and Barrel, had a walk out to Ohio City and went in The Angle. Went in Beerhead and Punch Bowl social and dished out some batterings to young uns and an old un on the dart board in Flannerys on East 4th. Was strange when I came out of their at 01.30 as I walked across the square all lit up, there wasn't a sole anywhere to be seen and next to no traffic anorl. Just seemed really peaceful for the centre of a big city. Didn't see anybody till I got back near the flats where there was a few party people mulling around. Everybody I met on the trip were brilliant and the hospitality was exceptional. Was funny when I had my Houston backers shirt on, other Browns fans looked right surprised when I opened my gob, had a couple of 'well you're not from Texas' comments. Went in Rock n Roll Hall of Fame which was excellent, must have spent over 4 hours in there and went in The Civil War memorial which was interesting. A very enjoyable holiday . Will see how the schedule falls and might pop back over a bit earlier in the season next time. Cheers.
  8. I'm hoping they play Jaguars at Wembley. I think Vikings have the game in Germany. Been looking at our away games and several of them have MLS teams so that's got my cogs turning, the chance of some Browns action with some of our type of football thrown in could get me clocking up the miles again. Last trip came in just a bit short of 11,000 miles.
  9. The sun goes round the wrong way and water swirls down the plug hole in the opposite direction anorl.
  10. A cracking tune and a fav of mine anorl, Waterloo sunset runs it close.
  11. I just pictured myself with a face Full of hot chilli, I used to watch the lads at work getting stuck into hot Indian curries faces bright red and sweat dribbling off em, looked more like an ordeal than enjoyable meal but they used to say it was lovely. Cincy is a smashing idea but I know my boss wouldn't be over keen as the work will no doubt be queing up for me when I go back in on the 4th. One to consider for the future though. Cheers.
  12. Before this trip I'd only ever seen them get beat. By Eagles in 91 and by Chargers in 92. I've been happy to discover that I'm not the jonnah that I thought I was. And that did actually cross my mind when I was planning this trip that if both games go tits up it'll be down to me bringing them bad luck and also that I'd get chased out of town.
  13. In that top picture can you see me waving to the camera? I clocked the helicopter and gave him a wave, I'm on the bridge with the blue hat on! Half of that lot went straight in The Ivy.
  14. That was absolutely mint tonight, the second half was as tight as the first half was open. Walking back to m.y hotel on W10th all the bars were rammed with huge queues outside so my hotel bar was the best bet. Numerous Browns fans staying over that have come in from all over Ohio are in the bar with me. Chuffed to bit's for all Browns fans cos it was obvious just how much tonight's result meant to everyone as we came out of the stadium. I don't half pick em don't I.
  15. Just had a walk back to my hotel and the place is bouncing down near the stadium. Might have been Dive bar that I walked past. Enjoy the evenings action!
  16. Had a lot of advice off the chaps on here regarding tickets. It's all paperless now though so I bought a new phone to be able to do it. I sussed out where I wanted to sit on my laptop cos the screens bigger then booked them on my phone. Paid slightly over $100 for each game. Got in a fair old flap about doing it but it was easy enough in the end. As regard dodgey days out I've been very lucky over the years. Took a kicking at Man City and almost got sparked. Wore a bus window at Man U, glass in my hair and clothes. Took a baton round my face in Rome off the Carabinieri that almost put my lights out. I know lads that have had a lot worse so can't complain considering how long I've been going. Just on east 4th now enjoying some local Cleveland brews in Flannerys. Had some top suggestions for brew houses off chaps on here which I'll check out over the next few days, fair does to the lass serving me, she's not letting me sit here with an empty glass. Cheers.
  17. Was at both games you mentioned, had an S/T for 30 seasons but only go now and again now. Rossington Main is the non league team that I watch occasionally due to working with lads that have played or are involved with the club. They've done The Peacock up and it's brilliant but it's now home fans only after an incident or two. The wall paper is a mish mash of ticket stubs, programme covers and old football cards. Looks mint. And yes the holiday has been a right laugh so far but it's more expensive than I thought and the dollars are disappearing quickly, mostly over various bar tops. Here's to another win tonight! Cheers.
  18. Ay up Claret, I see your a Greg's and Villa fan. I was down yours for the last two mid week games with Leeds before we went down, we had a fine slurp round Litchfield pre match on both visits. Always liked your ground going right back to the 80s before redevelopment and the AV flood lights. Done several of your boozers round there in days gone by one or two which sadly no longer exist I believe. City centre is good with pubs like the Wellington and Old Contemptables setting fine ale standards. Have you had the pleasure of a visit to Leeds? All the Gregs staff in Doncaster frenchgate know my face and I only work in the town. Cheers.
  19. I took your advice and now I've been arrested for flashing! Hope they let me out in time for my flight north tomorrow. Worst bit was the lasses pointing and laughing.
  20. Many thanks I'll call them after then.
  21. Merry Christmas to you all, what time do you lot in USA have Christmas dinner traditionally? I've got some phone calls to make to Browns friends and I don't want to bother them while they are eating. Cheers!
  22. I thought we were excellent and that was my first win. Most of the Texan fans disappeared before full time and the game finished in an almost empty stadium with the exception of our support. Went to pre match bash on Saturday night and met lots of Texas based backers and then met them all again at the tailgate on Sunday. Been surprised at how quiet down town Houston has been but the welcome and hospitality I've received has been bang on. I can highly recommend Birra Porretti and the pubs on main street to anyone who passes this way as I'm eating and drinking like a Lord. Was surprised that even the Texans fans that I talked to were good sports even after we'd given them a battering. I fly to Cleveland on Wednesday so I'll be in a pub near you lot soon. Merry Christmas everybody!
  23. Information overload is about right, Cleveland has been quite easy cos everywhere is walkable from my hotel other than the metro from the airport and back. Houston has taken a bit more planning cos several of the pubs I want to visit are a long bus ride out from the centre so I have to plan that I can get back ok after a good slurp. Got a pile of maps with bus routes and times scribbled on but if I take care of it now I don't have to worry about it when I get there. Thanks to everyone on here for the tips and Information. Not long to go now.
  24. I need some tips on tipping please. When I'm buying drinks am I expected to tip every time I buy one and when I eat how much is it usual to leave? Don't want to be walking away from the bar with them muttering 'tight english wanker' under their breath. Last time I was over I tipped on every other drink, is that about fare enough. When I was in LA a lass served me and she had a face like a slapped arse, wasn't sure if it was me not tipping enough or whether she was always so miserable. Many thanks inadvance.
