  1. There are two Irish boozers in the Old Town which should have the Rugby on, The Galway Bay is biggest and best. Innsbruck is brilliant and surrounded by mountains. They've got a good Ice Hockey team with a cracking bar at the stadium with Hockey stuff on the walls. Two soccer teams playing next door to the Ice hockey stadium. And a space age type train that takes you on the mountain. I've been a good few times and I love the place. We go there for The Four Hills Ski Jumping Tournament which is spectacular and a massive deal to the Austrians. Is your son doing a tour or just staying in Innsbruck?
  2. Glad you enjoyed your visit to my fine City. My family name is of Norse origin and my ancestors on my dad's side were from Wearside which is another river north of York that the Vikings settled next to. So all that considered, I'm probably of Viking stock so I have an interest in that part of our history. They certainly left their mark on my City with many street names being Norse. Hope you got to sample some fine ales in our many historic pubs.
  3. Seattle was my initial idea for a trip over then my sister went and broke her ankle so I had to spend time looking after her instead of planning my trip, so everything has been put back a couple of months and Houston is looking like an excellent plan B. I'll check out those ticket sites and compare prices. Thanks for your help.
  4. Can't say I'm a fan of them myself. The sections I've been looking at look quite reasonably priced if I get in soon enough. Can I expect addons bumping the price up with them aswell? This advice is much appreciated.
  5. I checked out TicketMaster on the Browns website and there looked to be plenty of availability at both my games or have I overlooked something.
  6. Brilliant! I'll write these down cos I'm a massive real ale fan and lucky for me, being from York I'm surrounded by the stuff. I'm also a keen Darts player so I've been checking out darts pubs and there's loads of em in Houston so happy days. That's the beauty of internet, when I check Karbach Brewery out it will even tell me what bus I need to get on to get to it. All pub recommendations will be checked out and that goes for Cleveland aswell, must be 30 years since I last drank down at the Flats. Thanks for your help.
  7. Thanks Bob, I think the first thing I'll have to do is get a new phone. I've been checking out the Houston Bar scene and it looks like a cracking place for a Beer up!
  8. I'm planning on coming over for Christmas and New Year and doing games at Houston and the home game against the Jets. Last time I came to a Browns game I bought a ticket at the stadium but that was back in 1992 against Chargers. I've been checking the Browns website and I've come to the conclusion that there are no stadium ticket sales and that everything is now online via Ticketdisaster. I'm a self confessed Ludite when it comes to tickets on mobile phones and I've never been in a position where that has been the only option. It says on the Browns website that you need to download the Browns app, is this the only way it works? When I sort my ticket for Houston do visiting fans have there own section or is everyone just sat together with no fan segregation. The first game I went to in 1991, we bought tickets from a Sports Shop in Tower City, this was a Ticketmaster outlet. Does this place still exist? Many thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share.
  9. I'm not a massive fan of Motor sport involving cars but I've got right into one particular annual Motor cycle race and that is the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy ( TT). Does this ever get any coverage in US cos it's the maddest motor sport event on the planet. Two weeks of nutters racing round the Island while the race fans sit next to the road or stand behined walls while the bikes flash past within touching distance. There are loads of clips of this race on Youtube and some of the on bike camera footage is mesmerising. One famous rider quote is 'You see a grey blur and a green blur, I try to stay on the grey blur'.
  10. Hello fellow Browns fans, I'm a Browns fan from York in England and I've been a fan since 1991. This all stemmed from a lads holiday to Orlando .On our first night there we were sat in the hotel bar getting stuck in to the beer when four cracking looking lasses walked in and came and joined us much to our surprise. Turned out they were from Cleveland (Euclid) and Browns fans. We had the pleasure of their company on numerous occasions during our first week and when it was time for them to drive back north numbers were exchanged. Fast forward a couple of months later and I phoned them up, fast forward another couple of months and two of us flew over to visit them. I had no idea about American football but one of their friends explained what was going on as we watched them play Cincinati on telly. The following weekend we all went to the Philadelphia Eagles match when I saw Bernie Kosar beat Bart Stars passing record in my first match. The following year I came over again and saw them play against San Diego Chargers. I'm hoping to get over this coming season for a couple of games, possibly Seatle away and Arizona at home so I'll be asking questions about allsorts of stuff from Match tickets to Pub recomendations. And a bit about me. I'm an Ale fan and I'm into ornate historic pubs. I enjoy most sports and am a fan of Leeds United who I've seen play all over England, Europe and round the world in some wierd and wonderful places Australia, China , Thailand and Russia are just four examples. Musically I'm a fan of Motorhead who I saw 25 times and I now follow a good tribute band called Motorheadache. Work wise, I left school when I was 16 and learnt my trade in the local train factory building and repairing trains. since I started work almost 40 years ago I've built buses, railway wagons and kitchen and bathroom furniture and am now back in a railway works in the wheel shop re-profiling wheels on the wheel lathe or pulling wheels off axcles on the drop rig in Doncaster which is a short commute from my home city.
